plus I dont think people understand how many drop in DLL mods there are for Vulkan Rendering.

If ED makes it so the engine detects those mods, it will be bliss.

Played around, testing my FPS with various settings in VR again. Used the Viper at Vaziani.
With weather, terrain object shadows to flat and rain drops on, I settled in around 22 FPS.
Removed rain drops and only gained back 1 FPS. Removed the Terrain shadows and gained back 7. Looked toward the city in between the 3 airfields and FPS dropped to 18.
Removed weather and jumped back up to mid-high 30s.
Same starter settings (flat shadows ON), minus weather on NTTR and a solid 45FPS.
Sadly, weather is killing the performance. So it’ll stay off or to just random light clouds.
And I’m running an i9-10900, 3080 GPU, 64Gig RAM on a Reverb G1.


What is your clouds quality setting?


The Clouds and Volumetric Fog are FPS Killers for sure.

just had a quick flight in the ka50 … not sure if its just me, after spending so much time in the hind … but the cockpit feels a lot larger than it used to, the new green screen shkval looks nice and i had forgotten how stable it is, compared to the other helos


It is such a useable helicopter. I love flying it in DCS almost as much as I love seeing them get shot down on reddit.


Has anyone else noticed a change in the Hornet flight model?

I flew it today in 2.8 for the first time I believe, and it feels intangibly different.

Also, I don’t think it was documented, but flight members now have dedicated HAFU symbology on the SA page with flight number (A, B, C, etc)

Edit - apparently the flight member designations have been there all along. I suppose I’m used to Baltic Dragon’s campaigns, which don’t use the flight member system.


It seems to hold energy a bit better, I can keep up with the MiG-29 in the Dogfight quick mission a bit more easily?

Recovery tanker is HUGE! I’ve been getting tired of having to edit airboss scripts for every single mission and iteration I have, and troubleshooting when things go whack.
