Is the ETA on the updater broken for anyone else? Mine keep saying it’s a 4- or 5-hour update, but crunching the numbers it should be 90 minutes.
It’s always an estimate based on download speed plus x. If the download speed fluctuates a lot it might struggle to give you a reasonable ETA I guess.
Yesterday it said eta 25min for me, however it was actually a little quicker. But that’s with good internet, averaging over 100MB/s
Anyone else having problems with the Phantom after the latest patch? It’s suddenly not authorized. I loaded up DCS for the first time in 6 months to test out the new fog and instantly get problems.
Here Dude!
Did a 'Repair" and then it went away. Quick repair that is. Took about a minute-ish
Annnnd…then it came back. Grr.
Got a windows ‘threat’ (Windows 10) warning, which ‘fixed’ something? prior to running DCS again. Related?
So it appears to be related (feel like I’ve been here before?):
From the forums:
This will be a false positive from your AV (it happens periodically). Exclude the DCS folder from your AV and then run a repair or update.
I had performed a Windows 10 update yesterday; that may have been the first hole in the swiss cheese?
Windows Solution starting point for those, like me. that have mentally misplaced the process:

Yeah, I ran a Win 11 update today and it quarantined the file when I first launched DCS afterwards. I caught Defender in the act, restored the file, excluded it from the list and restarted DCS.
Yeah looks that win11 not trust on Jester he is dangerous and a traitor that control the aircraft according with the enemies.
I’m amazed people aren’t up in arms about this. I guess I’m going to have to revert… of course I had already updated missions to the current patch
What do you mean? DCS: F-14 fans are a very small portion of the Windows 11 userbase. It’s probably easier for Heatblur to submit a report or find a workaround than it is to publically pressure Microsoft on this.
Easiest of all is to whitelist the DCS filetree on your system.
And it’s happened so many times, most recently with the M2K for me but every other update when the Hawk was still a thing that module had a warning…
is it just me or is there really some pattern !?

Is something bugged with JDAMs? I’ve tried dropping off the F-16 and Strike Eagle several times over the last few days and the bombs are wildly off target every time. Laser guided are just fine, at least off the F-14. I’m getting my coordinates by Alt clicking the F10 map. Just curious if anyone else is having the same experience.
F-16’s pre-planned JDAMs are bugged (claimed WIP after users badgered ED enough to point out it’s wrong when they doubled-down and said it was correct-as-is) because it adds the aircraft’s INS drift to the bomb GPS. If you lase the target in point track (and maybe area track?) you should get good accuracy.
On the Mudhen no idea. When I plug the coords in directly or use the mission editor pre-planned targeting they’re dead-on. When I use the pod I tend to miss because I frankly can’t see squat on that ancient display.
Hey Fellas,
When I start MP in DCS there are like 5 servers. How is this happening? I only see a few servers and nobody playing… Is it going to pot?
ED have released a small update, the server ops need to update, drop their server, then re-up.
Things should be back to normal in a few days. Assume you’ve run the updater recently?
Holy moly I just went on a SEAD mission at dusk and fired a HARM missile while I was going through a thin cloud. It looks absolutely incredible
Tried to take a screenshot but the missile was already too far out. You can see a hint of it over the nose of the Hornet.
Sort of, similar to this, timestamp?
First time I’d seen that effect, clouds all glowing from my burners as I hauled back to escape’. Cool.
Yes, but much, much more intense than the afterburners. The whole cloud lit up. It was extremely bright. This has to look absolutely incredibly in a pitch black night.
