I was quite blaseā to be honest- by now I am used to it, but it did sting.
And even more āfunā is that that patch was to remove a part of a scenery, to add it again few days laterā¦
Thatās good, itās so annoying when entire regions just up and leave.
I was once supposed to fly to Montreal for hire, but one day? Quebec up and left. Mind you, Ontario was pretty stoked until it came back.
Where are the MiGs?
I spotted at least one MiG-28 in there! ![]()
Ohhhhā¦My Kingdom my Kingdomā¦For an F-4J ![]()
Its a Top Gun thingie⦠im a bit disappointed as well. I was expecting a Vietnam scenery⦠i will still do it
Constant Peg didnāt begin until 1977, so 8 years on. Isnāt the F-5 pretty close to MiG-21 performance otherwise? I flew mission 1 last night and itās cool seeing the aggressors lined up on the ramp. This is going to be an awesome campaign and I bet that anyone serious about flying A2A would benefit from it. The E is kind of a pig without slats. Not having ammo helps, but that gun still adds some weight on the nose. BTW, you have the option of using slats in the beginning of each mission, although I plan to fly the campaign with them INOP.
At the risk of jinxing it⦠almost there!

getting there ⦠new hotfix confirmed as soon as your download finishes ![]()
BWAHAHAHHA I wouldnāt be surprisedā¦
āLocationās correct, butā¦no Alderaan.ā
āWhat happened, where is it?ā

Seeing your impressive download speed - Mine was at 1 MB/s as well, then I plugged in the Ethernet cable and suddenly got up to 70 MB/s (pretty much maxing out the line). I have no idea why the Downloader is so slow on Wifi though.
The key word is WiFi!!!
Wifi is only good to avoid a cable in the room to your pc. Nothing more, all other wifi features are worst than cabled solutions.
TCP/IP protocol allows micro interruptions and retries. It allows, not means that when exist interruptions you are in a good way. Cabled connections in a good network, rarely you have interruptions and the flow is high speed, with wifi for the user it not see that interruptions because it only shows/report that exist an interruption when it tried multiple times without success and for prolonged period, so sometimes wifi connections are with all the lines ( āhigh qualityā) but it have many interruptions that break the overall speed because retry or resends of the packets.
Wifi are disrrupted by multiple things between your pc and your wifi router/modem, it can be glass walls, humans, other animals moving, metallic walls, fridges, elevators, other electronic equipments, specially other routers on the same range that are using the same wifi chanel, providing tons of collitions, ā¦
Everytime you can, always use cabled.
Even cabled TCP/IP because their relaxed sync quality is NOT welcomed to critical and dangerous realtime network for industry when you need pure realtime syncronization between industrial machinery through a network, exit better protocols that not allow collitions/retries, etc
Some good points, but what leaves me puzzled is that I get those 70 MB/s download via WiFi from steam updates all the time as a peak, with average being around 30+ MB/s Iād say (mk1 eyeball meter). Only DCS updater is completely depending on the cable it seems.
Yes, many downloaders himself have their own protocols about timeouts and retries and the creation of multiple concurrent connections to download multiple parts of the same file at the same time, some are more sensible to interruptions than others in their algorithms to throttle up or down the speed and multi-connections.
I seem to get throttled whenever Iām downloading a DCS update. It peaks at 10MB/s, YouTube starts buffering slower, and speedtest gives me a download speed thatās 22% what my usual download speed is when idle.
Heya guys!
So finally itās done, it is updated! HOORAY!

The issue is indeed WiFi- thatās the only form of internet I have now.
End of October things will get better, hopefully, but itās some time away and i donāt really want to worry about it now.
