You have to program the same buttons in the Pilot profile as well as the CP/G profile for them to work from both seats.
Ah-ha. Thanks for that.
Quick question. How can I turn off the NVS in the IHADSS? Is there only the On/Off switch on the left side panel or can I use a HOTAS command?
I need to learn alot
How do you switch displays for the cursor? I though the cursor moved seemlessly between displays
Also how do you change waypoints? Im constantly stuck on wp 1
Found out george doesn’t pull up and tree tops and helos dont mix!
We’re all learning now1, and the thing is pretty raw in certain aspects I reckon.
1: Well I’m not, currently sick as a dog, no way am I going to struggle wrapping my aching head around something as big and angular as an attack helicopter.
I am sick too and still have no simpit set up, the dehumidifiers where removed the other day and we wait a date from builder’s to replace ceilings. I might try to plug in the pcand at least update. Keep posting bugs and issues though they will be handy eventually
I had some trouble recentering the rudder trim after landing last night which made hover touch and go’s a bit well let’s say… Haphazard ; anyone figured out how to / which trim ‘special option’ would be helpful with this?
You got to move the cursor to the edge of the screen, short release and then continue slewing. The cursor will then switch MPDs
NP. This bird is fun, but trying to create a HOTAS profile that works for me is Admittedly, I’m loving it!
Wow. Just jumped in and I’m already confused.
This may need to wait.
the 64 eats a lot more FPS than the hind … it seems stable in flight, but hover…very twitchy…
I found the eye sight thing is like mirrors in regard to FPS
I just sat there for 5 mins thinking how much simpler the hind is
its like the difference between the shark and the huey …
I have not tried the Hind, but it cant be simpler can it?
its like comparing the F5 to the A10c II, the hind is almost akin to the huey but with a slightly better gunsight,
Yeah, this one got me too. Here’s what I found out. It depends on which trimmer mode you’ve set for cyclic and pedals on the DCS > Settings > Special > AH-64D page. In Wags’ controls video, he suggests that most users should select Central Position Trim Mode. From the manual, “After the force trim interrupt button (trimmer) is released, the new trimmed position of the player’s stick will only be applied after the stick is returned to neutral position.” All well and good while cruising, but more of a challenge to do at slow speed, when high pedal input is needed. What worked for me is setting trim well before touchdown, because at slow speeds and low altitude, when you potentially have a lot of cyclic and pedal input, it’s almost impossible to let your stick back to the center position. I do think that this trimmer mode has a better feel than the default Instant Trim (FFB Friendly) mode.
thats pretty much what i came up with… get the stick where you want it, press the trim and let it back to the center quickly … not sure about the other trim modes though, one of them just seems to set off an alarm in the cockpit
the george co-pilot is exactly the same as the one in the hind … with a few more whistles and bells
Does anyone think the Cockpit Camera Shake is inop, at least in VR? I have it set to 100% but detect little or no shake.
