What happens if you just load the F-14B config?

Well, just for grins on my maiden voyage in the -A, I took it [way] up and did something I shouldn’t have done (on purpose). Lo-and-behold: compressor stall sound, flat spin, CW.

From FL290 to about 5000 AGL (near Groom Lake) before I recovered. Whew, that was fun.

Now, I haven’t read the spin recovery doc so I tried various combo’s of rudder & stick (with/against spin, etc). Nadda. In the end I just pointed the nose down (before I completely ran out of altitude) and held it there. At some point it took. Probably had about 10 seconds til impact it sorted itself out.

Was kind of annoyed cuzz I’m trying not to have any unscheduled deaths on my log book.

The update totally wiped out my Tomcat controls config.

Same here

And my seat shaker isn’t working with the -A yet. Just feels like a dead fish without that.

Thanks for the heads-up. I wonder if you saved the config outside of DCS, if you could import it? Perhaps that’s what you meant. That your old profile won’t work with either the A or B model?

Nope, didn’t save it,Had to start from scratch

Sorry Phantom. I got sick and tired of loosing everything. In a video I learned to save my stick configuration. Its real easy. I now even make a backup to the backup. Nothing worse than trying to fly a jet you have not touched in a while to find everything was wiped. To me this is a must. Just hit save category. And you’ll see how easy it is.

My existing profile was saved in the Saved Games folders (automatically I guess, I never saved them) and I could simply reload it.

Mine doesn’t work with the new A-10C either. I guess they have to add the module to the shaker software?

Did the same yesterday, went high, departed controlled flight, entered flat spin, it really helps in spin recovery to manually sweep your wings back. And yeah, all my binds were gone also. Had to remap my HOTAS from scratch

For the Tomcat, or for all modules?

Good to know for next time,Thanks for mentioning it,

@Troll actually he did fix this, for the A10C-2. Added it about 10-14 days ago I think. Look for new updates.

EDIT: Nothing like feeling the Burrrpppt!

Regarding the keybind issue, go to Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input and rename the “F-14B” folder to “F-14”
A bit late for those who remapped everything but it might be usefull to the others.
Sometimes it’s good to be late to the party :stuck_out_tongue:

I tried abusing the TF30 with max alpha pull and moving the throttles between idle and mil, and the most I was able to get were a few successive pops, but no full-on compressor stall. I do like the new stall horn, though; never noticed that before!

I tanked with the A today. The TF30 takes longer to spool up than the GE-110, so you have to be more aggressive with accelerating and less aggressive with decelerating. I thought it was easier to get into the basket, but once in was harder to stay there. Before, if I noticed the tanker pulling away I could just bump up the throttle for a second, then retract it and that would be enough to keep me in place. With the A, you have to firewall the throttle as soon as you can see the tanker’s wing root/trailing edge so when the basket does pull away you have enough acceleration to get back into it before it returns to the slipstream.

Note: these observations are off a KC-135MPRS at 350kias in the Heatblur Tanking instant action mission.

Tomcat only, Eightball fix would work though as now I have F-14, F-14B and F-14B_RIO folders in my Config/Input folder.
