It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it…

They are building the hype up for release. Let’s hope that they can iron out the last kinks in the startup procedure in time.

I love pre-release hype!!
As with many things in life, the dream is often better than the reality…

By the amount of content and the promise of the startup video being released closer to the release date in EARLY autumn, it looks like we can safely say two more weeks.

You HAD to say it didn’t you :joy:

September 23rd is even less than two weeks. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well…time for pointless excessive logic:

According to Google, autumn in Russia is September 1st to November 30th. Therefore, we have three months of potential release dates.

Now we simply replace month names with phases: Early, Middle, Late.

ED said early Autumn, so therefore it’s this month.

Release potentially with a beta on a Wednesday, and betas are very other week, with the last one on the fourth so it has to be the 18th!

Right?

Not necessarily, they used to do that for some time in the Hornet development cycle but betas are much more infrequent now, coupled to what’s happening in development.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this week nothing happens except bumping the release version up to current beta.

I think viper ain’t quite ready yet for showtime. Something about the way that pit looks seems unfinished to me. But I’m willing to be surprised.

Found this over on Hoggit but I thought I would post it here :smiling_imp:

It may already exist in the deep archives of the NATO thread.

Now I’m more than a little worried…I’ve been doing nothing but Carrier Traps for months and haven’t landed on an actual runway …That Viper Undercarriage does Not look Phantom88 Proof .

Get your mind right with the MiG-29. You land that one, you can grease any pig.

Take a look at the wing waggle after touchdown. It’s going to be challenging given the narrow set of landing gear. I’ve cued the next video up at the touchdown parts:

I know that on the Fighter Pilot Podcast, when they interviewed the F-16 Pilot, there was talk of this challenge.

EDIT: It just looks like it doesn’t want to land

Kind of like a modern Bf-109? You’d think the fly-by-wire would help stop it from killing you, but who knows.

So, in anticipation of the Viper, I have solved my controller dilemma by ordering an additional MonsterTech desk mount. My plan is to use the TM Warthog stick and base for the Viper and the WarBRD/MongoosT50 CM2 for all the other aircraft that use a centrally mounted stick. The stiffer movement of the Warthog will probably be a better simulation of the Viper’s stick than the WarBRD. We will see how it works out.

Wait. I can’t see it now. I may be uploading so I will be patient
