DCS F/A-18C

Is it possible to take the released skin template and put it on the AI f18? In other words can you test them on it before the real one comes out? Interested to try my art skills on it.

I would like the South East Asia USAF camo if anyone is taking requests

Can I request VFA-25 or VFA-113?

Depends on if I can get good enough source material for stencils.

No, the Template is for the Lot 20 F/A-18C Model, the AI in DCS doesnt use that model.

You’ll have to wait for May 30th and the New AI Model to be integrated.

In this video Eagle Dynamics’ Senior Producer Matt Wagner very kindly takes the role on of my instructor for a more detailed startup in the upcoming DCS F/A-18C. From around 33 minutes in Matt answers a host of questions from viewers on the F/A-18C and DCS in general if you wish to skip to the Q&A, however at several points during startup Matt provides some very interesting insights on the DCS F18 and its development process.

Lots of interesting information coming out of that one, and it was refreshing to hear Wags giving Crash some props for his videos.

Laobi makes a good product.

This was a very informative vid. @Gunnyhighway, I’ll admit to having gotten bored during the Q&A and didn’t finish. But before I quit watching Wags did not confirm any particular airplane for FC4. Did he reverse himself later or are we just being punked again? (see 4 days above )

Similar to Dumb and Dumber, he didn’t say no. Which leads to the only likely conclusion.

100% CONFIRMED

Haven’t you seen this thread?

Still not convinced. Good move if it were. The inclusion of a FC helipocter would seem logical. I would feel somwhat safe about the F-16 rumor only because an AG radar whould help gameplay.

I would love an FC Apache if we can’t get a DCS one. I just want one! Since 1988, when I got Gunship on my 8086, I’ve loved that bird.

Ditto an AH-1. It’s no Apache, but I’d still like one.

FC level F-16A would suit me just fine. AIM-9M and CCIP bombs are all I need (and a thrust - weight ratio to die for)

I personally wouldn’t like the A that much, I am all about switching switches. Any block of the C would do for me though (except the newest, ugly ones that is).

…but now it is the Hornet’s turn!

Posting these few clips cobbled together because the sound effects of the jet at different aspects is really well done by ED. It really does sound like it comes screaming out of the sky and then fills the area with a roar. Anyone who has been to an airshow knows the slicing sound followed by the deafening afterburners…

One of the best things I ever heard were the F-15’s flying CAP over my backyard before Columbia’s 2003 final launch. They kept engaging burner in their turns and that’s as good a description as any I’ve heard of how those sound.

Didn’t know it would be the final launch at the time, of course. The big threat then was some sort of terrorist attack on the launch…who would’ve guessed it would be taken down by a piece of foam. :frowning:

That sound really is right on. I’ve been rewatching the Jetstream series, and the sound effects from your video really sound like they could’ve been recorded on location at CFB Cold Lake.
