awww yiss!

This is all coming together very nicely!

Nope. West coast has ICLS but it’s rarely used. Again, it’s considered unreliable and under maintained. When the fog rolls into the valley, you’re doing a PAR.

I can’t definitively say that there’s not ACLS ashore, but I haven’t heard of it. It’s not as simple of a system as ILS though, so I doubt it. If ED goes that way and fictionally creates it, that’s fine. It’d be easier to justify having ICLS ground stations though since they’re, you know, real.

Nope. Just looked it up in a legacy NATOPS. I meant “flying off” the boat, as in operating at the carrier.

Again, no.

This ^
Maybe it’s a terminology issue, but it’s a fairly big distinction between the two.

Yeah, you can drop a mark point from the current aircraft position on the HSI but those are normally pre-loaded as your divert airfields. Mark points in the Hornet aren’t useful for much else.

I know ED is working with active Duty pilots for SMEs, you would probably have better luck debating it with them, I can only go by what is passed to me from Wags, and I assume he is getting this info from them and other sources.

I’m not debating any of this, I’m stating it as fact.

No offence, but I have to stick to ED on this, I can confirm their sources currently, and again, that is meant as no offence to you at all.

I don’t want to speak for anyone or put anyone on the spot, but might it not be advantageous to offer Boomerang the option of getting in touch with either Wags or the SMEs via email or something? That’s not something that involves me or this thread, or anyone else in it. I’m just saying if guy taking pictures like that  is raising concerns about a facet of your systems implementation, I’d make sure that concern was run down.

again, not trying to step on toes.

Didnt he say previously he has no experience with Legacy Hornets?

Well, to be fair, I haven’t flown a C-90 King Air, but I’d feel pretty qualified with my B-200 time to address some systems that share some commonality. At the very least, I’d just give our resident non-legacy Hornet pilot the benefit of the doubt and perhaps check with your people just to see if perhaps he has some good gouge that might be useful. Seems like a resource that could be valuable.

The last thing I’m trying to do is start anything. I hope you guys are getting all the info you need. Thanks for the video, I’m looking forward to the stream this weekend

I think I have stated a couple times that ED has a couple active duty SME’s. So I dont know what to do beyond that. If boomerang feels he has something to offer ED, he should approach them himself, all I am saying is that ED isnt pulling this stuff out of their backsides.

I’ll stop commenting now, post updates and that is it, Thanks guys.

So… I was just thinking I’d really love a VFA-25 Fists of the Fleet squadron skin. I know they’re not currently flying the legacy Charlie Hornets, but they did until just about 6 years ago.

I thought he was via comments to you…but I’ll pass along his comments to Matt directly I guess.

Hey @NineLine. Keep the updates coming and don’t sweat the details so much. Mudspike is a different sort of spot where getting along without stepping on toes underscores how we treat one another (generally). At the same time, whatever the subject, people “know what they know” and it is hard not to react when you get some pushback. I can only speak for Eric but I see you as a Mudspiker, not an informed visitor.
