DCS F/A-18C

Really? I’m getting all antsy and hoppety worked up over this stuff

The video’s are coming thick and fast now. Some are frankly embarrassing but some contain nice nuggets of info. Personally I feel it will be the last week in May before we get the Hornet to give an extra week pimping their new offering. @BeachAV8R probably hasn’t finished the copy for PC pilot yet

Dunno about you guys in the states. Here, flight time limitations are guaranteed insomnia cures.

Sometimes I wonder if not the flight time limitations requires that aircrew does suffer from insomnia…

that’d look nice, wouldn’t it?

Uugh… I can’t take anymore of the youtuber reviews. I don’t know how some of these guys got selected for the press release. A few of them did a legit review that I enjoyed but it’s getting old now. And how is it that most of them are British? One guy started off by explaining the reason why the Hornet’s avionics were so simple is so USMC and US Navy pilots could manage to fly the aircraft. I found that to be a bit obnoxious and stopped watching at that point.

Hope it releases this week!!

Sit back, relax, and remember that the UK has made neither a plane capable of landing properly on a boat, nor a boat capable of properly receiving a plane in over fifty years. It’s not malice, it’s envy.

Fairey Swordfish “Cough Cough”

Coming back into service

Sadly we’re fresh out of battleships, but seeing as it’s neither a fishing boat nor a merchant vessel, I’m sure any of our surface vessels could suitably repel it.

When Iran perfects its EMP technology you will beg us to send in the stringbags

Even its lack of speed could be turned to advantage. A steep turn at low level towards an attacker just before he came within range and the difference in speed and tight turning circle made it impossible for a fighter to bring its guns to bear for more than a few seconds.

Swordfish (or “Stringbags” as they were often nicknamed due to their ability to carry a wide range of weapons, much like a the ability of a string shopping bag to carry any goods) in addition to sinking more than 300,000 tons of German/Italian Axis shipping, were responsible for the destruction of over 20 U-Boats.

Hah! So true…I should add that the comment about US Pilots was made shortly after going on and on about how much he liked the FICTIONAL British paint scheme.

Some of the Streamers and You Tubers have target audiences that are not in the same lane as us. Froogle for instance, has a wide audience of FSX/X-Plane and P3D users that we should be hoping come “to the dark side”. ED doesn’t need to sell beers to alcoholics…we are drinking the bar dry regardless. I’m actually enjoying a lot of the novice streams and videos just because it shows that the appeal is there across a broad spectrum.

Froogle’s first impressions of the Hornet were very entertaining to watch. You could tell he was having a ball flying it. It was also good to hear him make direct comparisons with PMDG and other study level aircraft that P3D/FSX and X-Plane players will be able to identify with.

Happy DCS Patch Day…I think @Navynuke99 will back me up on this…On DCS Patch Day it is traditional to send $50 or more to the PayPal accounts of any/all USN veterans you know.

Yeah…if I can get that guy’s geocords I’ll gladly pass them to some of the FA-18 aviators down the road at NAS Oceana…they could use another target for their GBU-38 training…oh look, they are arming the aircraft now…
