Had alot of fun flying with both the European crew and the NA crew tonight! Forgot to grab screens while flying Erl Sis, but I did remember to grab a few on Ira’dib.
Providing BDA to @Wes during our night sortie against the northern Red roadblock:
Off again! This time our target was a staging area behind Reds lines consisting of a couple of supply ships and a truck park. My primary targets where the supply ships while Franze and Wes hit the truck park with Mk 20’s and CBU-97s.
That was great fun, even though I think I attracted the attention of every AAA gunner in the Black sea region, thanks for running it. Will try to be there tonight.
Great night thanks. My ineptitude with the F16 was apparent but A10 runs where fairly successful. I had a problem with fps later in the night which caused me to leave. I never had that in mp before and with 32 gb ram never thought I would. It was like the old mp problem of running out of memory, unless it was the vram in my 1080? Thanks anyway guys
If it was after the IED thing on Erl Sis then that can cause some slowdowns as infantry units are spawned and the large explosion can cause some issues.
The Jumeraih Keyhole mission is a Blue vs Red. Fly through the Atlantis Hotel on Palm Jumeriah for points. Get shot down by the other side to lose points. The first team to reach 8 points wins the mission.
I got on later in the afternoon, in time to hop into a red Su-25T on Erl Sis and start swatting blue SAMs with Kh-58 and Kh-25MP. It turned to a SAMbush afterward, taking MiG-29s up and getting several waves of blue F-16s shot up by SA-11 and SA-15. I got one with an R-77 but the last one launched an AIM-120 at the last moment and I didn’t have the gas to run away, so took that hit and ejected. I followed up in an Su-27 and utilizing my wingman was able to take out one F-16 before drawing a bunch more back into red SAMs before they again ran out of ammo. Two more dodged S-300 after S-300 from a cruiser, til one finally succumbed and before the last one could get finished off, we switched to Kill Transports.
Had a DCS crash in Kill Transports, but we finally got it up and running with me in a F-14B, @Wes in a Bug, and @WreckingCrew in a F-15C. Bugs running CAP damaged the first waves of transports as well as took out the first fighter escorts, but then they decided to play with SA-6s and SA-15s, getting taken out by the ADA. Wes finished off the damaged transports, then by the second wave WreckingCrew had run out of gas and so had to avoid an engagement with Flankers; I told Wes to deal with the Flankers as my AIM-54s would be more effective on the transports (he only had AIM-120 and AIM-9 left by this point). I took out the second wave of transports with 4xAIM-54 launched in TWS and we won the mission.
I would love to know what’s up with the laser mavs on the Harrier. Got solid lock and launch but then it was like the motor dies right away and it just drops.
Damn, at least I know it wasn’t totally my fault then! Is there an issue with reloading the IR Mavs on the Harrier and getting them to cool down? It seems like my first load out will cool down in 2 minutes or whatever, but then when I land and rearm I go turn the IR Mavs on and they stay in standby indefinitely and never get to ready. Am I missing something?
I am not sure the current state as it has been a while since I used multiple runs of them but as I recall they get stuck “on” - so when you re-arm they are “on” from before but also “off” because you never turned them “on” after they got loaded. So I would de-select / power them off, then re-do the warm up.
Tried them both in single player; AV-8B with LITENING designation and F/A-18C with JTAC; waited for in-range cue and in both instances there was a good track for the initial second of launch, then after the motor burned out they went dumb.
