Wow, Wow, just flipping great. This was a hit. I began in Vaziani and flew to Senaki Kohlki. I did not want to stop. Hung a left south on the coast and ended up landing in Kobuletti.
She flies on two fingers. A typical handful on the ground and has the crazy handbrake… But in the air… Oh yeah… Best trim of all the warbirds. Great visibility. A real joy to fly. And she was my first real complete unthedered VR experience. The interior is AMAZING. This thing is made of wood. I cant sell it to anyone. You WW2 buffs will either get it or not. But if you do, you will be amazed at how discombabulated the interior is. The wood, valves, switches and crudeness of the interior is wonderfully recreated. No regrets. Worth every penny.

This will be better than anything I can offer…
The Brakes and Flaps work on a compressed air system. So, you open the flaps the air comes on and pushes them open. You then neutralize the flap lever to shut the air. Leaving the lever in the Up position for the gear or flaps will deplete all the compressed air in the tank. Then when you try to land… NO AIR. So that is why there is a neutral.

Sorry , i not yet tried, but Maico i think already tested and he looks in love with it.
I will probably try it out tomorrow. It’s a bit out of place for sure but since there aren’t that many companies doing WWII modules it’s a must buy for me. I’d love to see more axis aircraft as well, especially for Normandy. Flyable Ju-88, an older 109 (G6 would be nice) and the FW 190F8 (come on ED!!!)

To have much more ww2 aircraft you can try the Il-2 Great Battles, the most comprehensive ww2 combat flight sim.
It feels great. ofc i never piloted a real one. But overall it looks all right. Same quality as other ww2 fighters on DCS. Its a nice and fun ww2 fighter to pilot.
That’s not DCS though. I tried it a few times, not my cup of tea.

Yeah, DCS was original shaped for coldwar/modern warfare. But since many years it is a patchworks of aircraft mix, where sometimes you can’t do a full reenactment of a theater of war outside modern wars because lack of contents/theaters/aircraft for that theme.
We even have there a pitts special, …..
If want to only have a pleasure of cold & dark start, travelling between airports, air show flights etc, every aircraft is welcome. This aircraft is in pair with BF109, P51, Spitfire, FW190, F4U, …. are very good and fun to flight. Nice flight model, system simulation level on gorgeous theaters to flight.

I have become the laziest mission builder ever. In mission builder go to I-16 missions/Instant action (might be single missions). Its a mission called Escort the Bombers and I beleive it is the Kola Summer map. Its an airstart but you can fix that later. Mission starts out with you escorting some A-20Gs. They get attacked by Fw-190s. I simply replaced the I-16 with the La. Something about the Raw wilderness of the Kola map and the A-20s make it very WW2 feeling. So that is the Meat and Potatoes. To add some flavor, I added some A-20G Soviet Skins found in the DCS User Files (Search A-20G skins). Make the 190s look, a little more fierce with skins. This was just day one. Using ME, you can really jazz up this mission. Yes, the cities are modern as are the airfields but that is the a small price.
In the La-7’s Instant actions the Marianas, Cold Start begins in a very raw, very WW2 looking Guam. The dirt airfields and scattered gas drums, Bomb trolleys and crates gives it that flavor. You could fight off Zeros(if we had any) or Corsairs (Korea and WW2 are only 5 years apart) Seeing this Island make me think of it potential for WW2 Scenerios. We could use some WW2 Soviet trucks, vehicles and assets. But for now, this is what we have.. Hope this helped.

Cool! I must try that too… my only issue is that the roll rate of the La-7 is kinda bad.
I still haven’t found a way to fight in it.
And i can imagine thats your fav dcs mod hahahahaha

Apparently, she is a boom and zoom plane. I dont know about all that. I found that Corsairs are easy meat, Fw-190As are Easy Meat, the 109 kicked my butt. Have not tried fighting the Mustang or the Spitty yet. For me, she is a beast. She has to be the most capable dogfighter in DCS to date, save for the Pitts Special, of course.
