DCS Mudspike Session 23-AUG-25

And that’s half the fun actually- this group is some of the best people I’ve ever met. Virtually or in Real Life.

For our next session, would people be willing to install mods like the OH-6? it is most excellent, we could do some fun vietnam inspired stuff with huey’s and perhaps something with a bit more oompf. a Kiowa could be a good standin for a AH-1?

Yes. Whatever floats everyone else’s boats…! I would love to see @chipwich out there blasting away…

You’re not gonna be driving me then? Kidding of course. I’m fine with it. I just haven’t modded DCS in a decade or so, so gonna need to find some documentation on how to do it with the mod managers these days.

WARNING! Once you go Loach, it’s hard to go back.

She demands your attention, but rewards you with an incredible piloting experience. System’s are minimal, so easy to learn - once you get control of the wild beast!

Install is a no-brainer.

I’m up for some LLH.

I’d just go Huey gunships personally. The closest thing to the AH1 in terms of a fast analog gunship is the Hind. The Kiowa just don’t have near the kind of munitions load as a Cobra.

I think you can still sit in the second seat and drop smoke grenades? Could be fun to do some tagging of enemy assets that way, have a F4 come in and nuke the ■■■■ out of it so that the transports can then land?

Something along those lines is what I was thinking about.

If we would do it this Saturday- tomorrow night- it would work for me…
Damn, this makes me feel… alive.

I will be working but don’t let me hold you back!

Saturday evening would be fantastic. I’d like my F-4E again, I somehow can’t stay away from it. Such a masterpiece by Heatlur. I can’t imagine how they can top that with their upcoming modules but I’m sure they’ll come up with something.

Would you want a total n00b as a GIB?

Quite tempted to learn the backseat in the Phantom.

some quick thoughts I had today… (was bored at work) during the mission we were tottally hammering the ground targets, the apache’s were loading up with hellfires and kicking ass… but how would it of played out if the base had limited resources, and we would have to ferry in munitions, some chinhooks or Mi8’s would have been doing some heavy lifting

This is something that’s also in the back of my head…
Building a mission, with a common briefing that everyone involved reads (erhm erhm*) and assigning roles.

Which admittedly wasn’t the main focus of that missing, but that doesn’t mean we can’t plan something more in detail. Am I right?

As long as we do impromptu missions I’m fine with unlimited ordnance and whatnot.
But the time we manage to plan with attendance and modules - man that’s something we should actually record.
Errors and all. :rofl::joy::sunglasses:

*I’m pointing the finger firmly at me :joy:

This should work as long as you keep in mind that every role, every plan should be really floggin’ simple. You are herding cats with the attention spans of toddlers on crack. Aka mudspikers.
