DCS: Normandy WW2

Great story…! Unfortunately, I have a lot of “damaged aircraft” stories because I suck so bad. One of my favorites involved flying a Ka-50 with the tail shot off and one engine gone all the way back to base for an unceremonious landing where I got repaired. It was thrilling…

Guys, we totally need to set up a “Final Countdown” in Europe* mission with Modern vs Local time vehicles!
Modern Allies vs Local Axis and vice versa…
OMG! OMG! Let’s do it!

RATS!!! Haven’t thought of those Pesky Messerschmitt’s and that wretched “Game Over” Cannon…I might have to call for Spitfire back-up

A bit of mainstream gaming press coverage…

Ah nice to see it’s being released! Not sure yet if i’ll get it though, the whole asset buggery sits a bit wrong with me. Especially since I don’t care for WWII units at all. I’ll probably sit on the fence and see what people use.

Just consider it as a package and you are good to go. I just see it as having the option to not buy the assets if you so choose. I spent about as much on the NTTR as the Normandy map and asset pack combo. It’s a storm in a teacup IMHO. If ED had announced the price as $60 all in, nobody would have complained (much). Give the customer base the option to save a few bucks if they want to fly on the map but not in a WW2 setting and all hell breaks loose…

When ED clarifies the future of mission exclusive asset packs, I’ll call off the negative nancying. Until then…

I’m with NB on this one, been thinking it over and it feels a bit odd. They could have created much lower detail assets instead of modelling every rivet of the BR52 and we would all be happy campers, heck I fly low and slow all the time in DCS and the low quality ground units don’t bother me much at all. Now suddenly because it looks old it has to look a lot prettier at no real advantage. I’d be a happy camper if they had just done it in the style of ground units currently in DCS.

Oh well, clarification would be nice before we are in a nickle and dime DLC content hell that nobody wants.

It’s not so much Britain exiting in 1944, more like planning on entering. Francin?

Not sure but that map has actually a 20% more extend with Clod?

Is that a land bridge extending from East Anglia across towards Belgium and Holland ?

We went through the hassle of building a tunnel under the channel while there was a natural bridge up north…silly Europeans
