Heehaw, was thinking along those lines- just not quite as politely. Eh, Italian blood and all…
Sigh… All I dig is sand…in Nevada!
OK, I don’t feel so bad about “missing” that!
It’s a new feature
look at those flames, and how they react to the propwash
Also, if you do start it up, one side “burns out” before the other. Pretty cool.
We applaud your initiative though.
Try Mavericks doh
Nice to see the engine startup model getting some love. I hope they will port this to the other aircraft as well.
I think that feature is up to the individual module makers. I know that in the Mi-8, starting the APU creates a similar flame and smoke effect from the exhaust on the left side if the helicopter.
I wasn’t talking about any 3rd party warbirds.
On second thought though, i would be surprised if that flame effect wasn’t accessible to 3rd parties once finished. The underlying engine model, not so much, naturally.
Ah the more reasoned of the thoughts. I know these well
Unless i’m forgetting something, there’s only ED warbirds at this point. I honestly got no idea where you’re going with your comment.
Flame effects isn’t a feature that is necessarily only associated with warbird aircraft. Fridge gave an example of the Mi-8 APU above.
Fridge’s original comment is that it would be nice to have that feature on OTHER aircrafts/modules. Then you said “I wasn’t talking about any 3rd party warbirds”. Then you said “i would be surprised if that flame effect wasn’t accessible to 3rd parties”, which we assumed you meant opened up the possibility other modules, not just warbirds.
And we enter the cycle…

And I agree - even ignoring that it might already be available - I don’t see a reason it might not be available to other modules.
Maybe attempting to empathize with you through a shared experience of having a second thought that was more reasoned that what I first thought missed it’s mark.
wat
Communicating via text is so difficult.
How do you guys do that…? I struggle with my first thoughts.
I wish I could skip past my first thoughts and just settle on the second or third.
Not to mention the voices! I was told to never mention the voices…
