DCS Screenshots [2026]

Sold on this. As I get older, I find that I’m embracing simplicity more. Besides, the Viggen is a beautiful-looking monster that brings back childhood memories.

The Viggen is real nice in that it’s as complicated as you want it to be, with the RB-15F and Bk.90s being at the high end of that. Even then, they aren’t that hard to figure out. Truth be told, you’re having a lot of fun even with the super simple weapons. The complexity of the Viggen comes in with mission planning and setting up the waypoints. The actual execution is simple as can be.

This is precisely what they had in mind when designing it. They wanted to get rid of the navigator and concluded that an aircraft with just a pilot onboard would have to be dead simple to use :joy:

It needs to be configured for single task missions, before departure. But what it lacks in versatility, it makes up for in ease of use and rapid deployment. Multi role it ain’t!

It is a cool aircraft, for sure! I will be going to the SwAF 100 year Airshow in August and enjoy the brutal sound once again… :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Crazy how far graphics have come. This would have been either a magazine add or box art, no way in heck even a cinematic.

And the Navy version off a recruiting poster, not a video game.

We intercepted some Backfires near the North Cape tonight. Multicrew Tomcat is the best!

Over 3 hours in the air, 850NM round trip, 6 backfires killed, one stop at the tanker, top speed M2.15

My RIO also took some Screens:

Bardufoss, Norway

Edit:

Destroyed a SAM site on a training Range in Sweden, then landed in Evenes, Weather was a mix of light rain and sunshine.

I hope they’ll push out some more updates for the Kola Map this year. I’d like to see Norway more fleshed out. Especially important ports like Narvik or Tromsø.

Narvik:

The area directly around Evenes for example is pretty decent and looks nice but just a few kilometers up the Fjord there’s nothing but muddy textures. I know this is really specific but I’d like to see Narvik and some assets to accomodate the iron ore logistics with the trains coming from the Kiruna mines in Sweden and being unloaded onto bulk carriers at Narvik. Is that too far out of the scope for a combat simulator?

I need to get back into flying Afghanistan, have only flown the Chinook so far last year, but I’d like to use the Apache like you’re using myself when my Head Tracker is working again.
