I have never tried 3rd person to be honest, so I cannot tell, but I hear people saying that it is supposed to be easier, because you can see more.
I am surprised you seem to disagree.
First person dash view. I cant drive in 3rd, I watch the rear of the car too much and overreact to it.
If I was just using a regular gamepad, then 3rd person might be ok. 3rd person with a wheel just hurts my brains like flying 3 person in a flight sim with a stick/yoke would.
Nice Aginor. You look like you’ve done that before Maybe running from the Polizei?
I can neither confirm nor deny that.
TeTeTe3 is me
Looks like the Flat Out pack released and is free if you purchased any of the season passes. 2 new cars and 12 stages. Nice!
Quick poll, to help so I don’t pick things people don’t have.
- Season 1 + 2
- Season 3 + 4
- All
- Misc.

Rally Poland, the road is like rock hard dirt sprinkled with a little bit of gravel, until you get to one of the stages where it’s heavy rain and sleet. I don’t recall driving it before, which was cool, because it feels different from any other rally, IMO. The tire and vehicle physics really shine in the different surfaces. Some of that sensation must be due to great graphics and sound.
Stage 6 is really awesome, without giving much away, because it flows nicely and you can really push it here. Except for one village exit where the co-driver says 6 right over crest, opens. Which to me means let her drift wide on the exit while getting hard on the gas to carry some speed to the next corner. Because even though you can’t see it, he did say open. Except for the fact that it actually tightens a little bit putting you into the grass while you are hard on the gas. It was all I could do to save it. I usually drive to finish, like an old man, so my arse took big bites out of the seat. See if you find the turn I’m talking about. Otherwise the pace notes are pretty good. I watched the replay for S6 and when the camera switches to the co-driver view, you can see the frozen ice on the windshield from the previous night’s rain. Great stuff. Six stages left.
Ok, since I have the game now I’ll see if I can join as well.
So, just for clarification: If I am accepted I will then see some Rally event that enforces
- some random stage(s?)
- a car class (probably my main problem)?
- a difficulty level? (With or without certain settings)?
- a limited number of tries to make it?
Anyway, that might become very funny as the only cars I can drive reasonably well in Dirt Rally so far are FWD cars.
If you sign up then, I can approve the membership.
I will put up events 2x a week. All stages during the event will be from the same geographic location.
I’ll pick a car class for the event. Don’t worry, I’m waiting on using RWD cars till later.
The difficultly is essentially simulation, no assists.
1 try at the stages.
Like I said a few times before, it’s for fun, I imagine we will all get better as time goes on, but being good at it now doesn’t really matter. It’s meant for fun.
That’s good to hear Aginor. @Mudcat posted above about some of the particulars, including class of car. Then, if you login into the RaceNet Clubs portal MUDSPIKE QL club, you will find the active Championship below with the difficulty settings below that.
Click the active Championship below, you will see the results of the first stage. You can then click to select one of the stages, which will give you sort of a race book for the rally. The weather conditions are not listed of course, which is nice because it gives a dynamic feel to the rally.
I’m about to live stream my next performance in VR. It shouldn’t be too long.
Cool. Post a link if possible Gunny.
Nice!
I’ll give it a try tonight once I am home.
utmost respect for taking that on in VR, I’d surely vomit all over myself if I tried it in VR.
Here is the video. I at least made it through the stage.
Watching live. That Audi is sweet.
Unfortunately I accidently retired from all of them when I was trying to back out to the main menu. Oh well, my car was beat to ■■■■ already. Lots of fun though! Dirt is pretty amazing in VR, even if it doesnt come through that way on the stream.
