How hard is it to enjoy Dirt Rally 2 with just a simple controller, no wheel or (car) pedals?

I use the controller. It’s pretty fun and works well. Easier, for me, to apply handbrake with a controller than with a button on the wheel.

Another rally ‘competition’ I am potentially keen on… I just realised that at some point I bought a ‘Year One Pass’ i.e. all DLC so would actually be up for a bit of Rallycross action.
