This one is from the multiplayer night. Found a stash of materials and the two big boys are trying to scoop the floating objects whilst flying. I am in the SRV watching the shinanigans.
Did some bounty hunting last night. Not horrible. Not good. I canāt seem to do much more than just lol. Can occasionally get on a slight tail but inevitably turns back into a jousting match again. Much fun though.
@komemiute depends on what you want to do with it. For a system defense ship (bounty hunting locally) I would go for FDL. The FDL has great speed but really horrible jump range.
But for a swiss army knife ship that can do a multitude of things well, the python would be your bet. Excellent storage (compatible with a type 7) good jump (once upgraded) and can carry class 6 shields.
I like to do a multitude of things and the python fits my belt. Whilst not the greatest at fighting, its no slouch when you have it upgraded. This is the largest class of ships that can visit outpost stations as well so I am unsure that I want to go bigger to the anaconda (however @Toppometer is kind of making me want to upgrade to a bigger ship so I can get a fighter.)
@Navynuke99 Iām running the Keelback at the moment. With A rating itās quite nimble and tough. The fighters also give you some interesting tactical options. I think that @near_blind picked one up yesterday too.
I withhold my opinion until I have time to go do a bunch of space capitalism and or space murder. I donāt have the credits at the moment to trick it out.
I recently swapped my Type 6 for a Keelback and used it for hauling, overall I ended up selling it and going back to a Type 6, the two additional weapon hard points are nice but it gives up alot on max speed, so I found that it wasnāt enough firepower to take on any but novice AI but it also didnāt have enough speed to do the boost and jump escape from hot engagements.
I went back to the Type 6 with a couple mines which can still take out Novice AI if I donāt want to run.
This was before the fighter bay came out so potentially having a fighter bay can change the fight or flight equation for the Keelback, Iāll have to try it again sometime.
As we know the first of the new discoveries has been found. How did he do it. He observed the star alignments in the trailer and triangulated its position.
Alright, got distracted by that Walter Waldo community goal last night. Not really a trader but spent the evening shuffling coffee 12ly in a T6 back and forth . It just ended and got into the 75% tier for about 7 million. Not great but better than nothing.
Anyone going to do the Maia combat CG over the next couple of days? I wonāt be around when it finishes next week but it might be more fun than long haul passenger stuff?
Not I. Just made it out to branglal as mentioned above to join up with peeps. Maia is 25-29 jumps away now, and Iām guessing thereās tons of PvP in that goal⦠I can barely handle the AI.
Man, I was having terrible luck in the Colonia Palladium mining CG last night- for an evening of mining, I got 35 tons of Painite, 30 tons of gold, 25 tons of platinum, metric craploads of Samarium and Praseodymium, and only 14 tons of Palladium. It was frustrating.
So I have no idea what Im doing but in the last day. Ive gone from 300k to 1 mil. Been doing missions and running cargo in rangtei system making no more then 3 jumps. Im in a cobra fit for mining. I must be doing something right. Im trying to rank up with the Empire so I can get a clipper.
So watched a quick ācombat tutorialā vid because I was hopeless, and wow. Such simple tips and I am already way better. Thatās not to say I am good, but I was able to avoid the dreaded joust with most pilots expert and below, especially if they were in the bigger ships. Had a bit more trouble with eagles and their superior turn rate / speed, but I think that was mostly because of the way my joystick is configured right now - need to just my secondary fire button so I can reach it and my thruster hat at the same time.
Way more fun fighting now though - instead of 30K in 30+ minutes, I made closer to 130K in about an hour, and that was just at the nav beacon. 50K bounty on a single ship helps.
