I have the weapons, and am thinking I’d like to unlock the fighters eventually. They’re great if you have steady aim, but make sure you have a ship that runs cold. Or a lot of heat sinks.
The modules are much, much more useful, but have a pretty high power requirement.
I’m out of town for work starting Friday and over the weekend, but I’ll help out once I’m back. And once I finish scanning just one more system for biological samples.
It does. I’ve been using my T9 bulk freighter, the Tofuchop Express. But there are other commodities that might require a medoum pad - haven’t checked yet.
First part was making a list of Guardians tech that I really need. No sense in wasting time for modules or weapon that are inferior to high-level Engineering.
So I am going for unlocking Guardian FSD Booster, and module and Shields reinforcement package.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that sometimes in the past I already started accumulating Guardian tech so with a little smart applied I could narrow down the few items missing.
If tonight I manage to get an hour or so I should be done.
As a side note the Scorpion SRV is a true tank in this matter. Armor and shields are solid!
I’m eating Guardians defense drones as if they’re some tasty snack.
Gotta admit having a homing missile launcher provides a much needed precision strike capability.
As silly as it may seems to outsiders- I find a lot of simple joy, almost solace, in shipping tons and tons of construction materials in a slow lumbering massive ship.
Not silly. I have had far more enjoyment from it as a ‘space trucking or taxi simulator’ and exploring by just picking a direction and going than I have with any of the pew, pew space laser battles. I’m at Elite for trade, Pioneer for exploration… but my combat rating is ‘Mostly Harmless’
Not only beers! I sold all my Guardian’s relics to a private sponsor (I know- they belong in a Museum …) and got another few million credits.
So right now I stand in a sweet spot.
1- Today the CG will complete and I’ll get another half billion.
2- Which added to the half billion credits already in my pocket means I can get my shiny new Federal Corvette
3- and Engineer + Guardian it up too! since the Tech Broker last night granted me access to the three items I needed.
After that I will head up directly to your Carrier and start working my T-9 out to deliver all that’s necessary.
I’ve put buy orders on the carrier for almost all the materials needed, based on what others have reported. However, there’s some variation in what different sources say is required, so I’ve kinda guessed based on what seems reasonable and will fit in the carrier. These are the items left to get at present:
I’ve been looking doing a bit of scouting. If we want a remote system to colonise, how about something like this:
It’s at the end of a string of (presumably only just) colonised systems about half way to the Coalsack Nebula. Plenty of planets, moons, and rings to exploit. The secondary star is a bit distant at 100,000Ls but there’s plenty near the primary to colonise first. What do you guys think?
