We don’t want earthlikes and/or waterworlds?
Can do. I’ll keep looking, but we may have to settle for being just on / outside the edge of the bubble to find one.
Servers are hammered… been trying to connect to play but it’s nearly impossible.
Do Earthlikes and waterworlds offer any thing? I would rather have a system full of pristine metallic rings or geo and bio planets.
Also I have a 720T cargo vessel now…Turns like a battleship and handles like a train…
I’ve had a good look along this chain of colonised systems. The only systems with Earthlikes or water worlds within colonisation distance have been claimed. The closest I could find was the one below, about 35LYs from the nearest inhabited system. That would require us to claim and build outposts around two intermediate stars before we could start colonising it:
Fully upgrade the thrusters and power distributor, and embrace the drifting boost turn.
Not yet. Honestly I’m good with establishing a foothold now, and revisiting ELW and WW later if they come in a new update - I have all the ones I discovered already bookmarked for future reference.
Thats the plan, I got alot of engineers to unlock yet, Really only ever did FSD engineering.
I think power distro is next then shields. All though it looks like Mel can do quite a bit of G5 stuff I need.
Synuefe:
I remember passing through there on my first ‘jaunt’ out to the Coalsack.
Yep. This.
I feel like …let’s fill the Carrier with everything we can cram in it. We will always have time to pick a system later.
What is the actual storage ceiling?
25,000 tons gross, however every service installed takes up some of this space. FEI LO’s max is a little over 20,000 tons. Once the buy orders are filled she will have about 300 tons of space left. With a bit of luck, that should be just enough stuff for the initial outpost, although it’s difficult to be sure given the variation in what people have posted. It’s also possible that FDEV are tweaking the amounts needed quietly in the background for balance. If we are missing enything then it shouldn’t be too hard to hop back to the bubble to pick them up.
EDIT: Does anyone else find it suspicious that an outpost takes almost exactly a carrier-full of materials to build? It’s almost like someone thought about it beforehand
ROFLMAO! Some things are just a mistery.
My understanding is the usual way to go for Cutters is prismatic shields. I haven’t fallen down the Power play rabbit hole yet to get them, but I probably will eventually.
Yeah, right now i have normal sheilds. But im in Cubeo because Aisling is the quickest PP faction to get prismatic shields. Just havent pulled the trigger on Powerplay yet.
I was depressed because without central monitor I can’t really play elite… And then I freaking remembered I have VR.
OH HELL YEAH! Immersion time baby!
I’ve managed to load up almost everything. This is what’s left:
The carrier is currently sitting in Ho Hsi. I’ll aim to finish loading up this weekend if I can and then head out towards the Coalsack. Carrier jumps are very hit-and-miss at the moment. Only about every third try works and the spool up times are around 90 minutes, so it’s gonna take a while to go anywhere
So… VR didn’t work.
Apparently I have too many USB devices connected and my PC does not have enough resources for all of them…
I am not sure if it’s an issue because my machine is old or whatnot but either I use VR, or I use my cockpit. Which is… Depressing. But I’ll open another thread in the Hardware section of Mudspike.
In other news I’m going through “Space-withdrawal”
So, I flew back to Jameson Memorial. I got a couple ships there, chief among them a fairly riced out 'conda. She jumps a mite over 30 and hauls about 160. Also lots of pewpew on her. Fighters, buggies. Ready for orders O7
