Seems like they’ve taken Buurs criticism to heart and made some changes to the T11:
Looks like the type 11 is delayed based on early feedback.

Oh hell yeah!
Even if I’m away from home for work …

Looks great but what I don’t understand: Is it only for the real money shop or also buyable with credits?
It will be available for Arx only for the next couple of months, after which it will become available in game for credits.
Exactly. I’m waiting to be able to get the Panther Clipper Mk. 2 with in game cash…
Right, I see. Thanks for explaining this. I wish Elite had an economy and industry like Eve has. Then this thing would have been absolutely amazing. As it stands now, mining is just for vendoring for credits, right?
Yes and no. There’s no direct supply chain like in Eve, but you can affect the BGS by mining. If you choose carefully which system you mine in and where you sell the loot you can boost a faction’s influence, and help that faction expand into a new system / hold on to its current system / defend against a rival factions advances. The actual details are a bit more complex and I don’t tend to bother about it, but I do like that every action I take affects the BGS in some way. I do notice changes in the faction states in Gamma Muscae in weeks where I sell a lot of goods for colonisation compared to when there’s no activity.
Also mining is a good way to get merits for Power Play 2.0, which again would give you access to some special modules and bonus depending on your faction
I see the Fei is parked at the normal fill up spot. Hope to be back in system soon.
Got to finish engineering the Type 11 and then I should be back in system.
Let me know how the T11 is for mining. I’m in two minds about getting one to replace my laser mining T9 which I spent weeks optimising back when LTD’s were the thing. If it’s sufficiently quicker then I will consider it.
Will do. I havent taken it out on a mining trip yet. Engineering is a dark dark rabbit hole that you can fall into…
I will say its a one stop ship for all mining. I got 240T of cargo space and can do any type of mining with my current set up. If you had a dedicated laser miner setup as a T9 or a cutter, im not sure this replaces it just based on the cargo space. But, if you are taking your fleet carrier out there then the T11 is going to be the way to go.
More to come once i get out of the Engineering rabbit hole, if i do…
Too true.
I’ve spent the evening doing a bit of mining for the CG. I found a Painite double overlap about 120 LY’s away in Hyades Sector DB-X D1-112 Planet 2 ring A. In about 3 hours I managed to fill up on about 500 tonnes of Painite, platinum, and a few other metals using Clementine, my trusty laser mining T9. It was a slightly nervous 12 jump journey back to sell, but it went off pretty smoothly and ended in a rather nice 150 million credit payday. Painite, platinum and osmium can be sold for about 300K credits per tonne! Be warned if playing in Open, there are the usual band of killjoys loitering around the main star looking to spoil everyone’s day.
The journey back wasn’t without it’s eye-candy either:
Payday! Not bad for about 4 hours work:
Just did a few quick runs for the new CG at HIP 90578 and a funny thing happened:
I didn’t realise there was an Elite IV rank. Does anyone know how far up it goes (is there an Elite V rank)?
I believe V is the max.
Congrats!
Question… for this CG you have to mine the ores or you can buy them?
You can buy them. One of the ground settlements in the closest neighbouring system has plentiful supply. Can’t remember the name but it begins with an M (sorry)
Cobalt is traded. Couple large space ports close buy.
