Beautiful! There are some absolutely stunning sights to see, but they take a bit of finding (see my recent posts above).
Steep learning curve! Don’t expect to be able to hold your own in combat or make millions straight away.
Time sink! Even when you know the tricks to game the system … ahem, I mean play with high efficiency … you will need to put a lot of hours in to advance / improve. Having said that, if you only have half an hour or so you can fit a quick bit of bounty hunting in I suppose.
Oh, and if you try E:D and feel like it is your sort of thing but haven’t got the Horizons pass, I would highly recommend getting it. Half the fun to be had is down on the surface.
I’ll second all this, especially as I’m currently slogging back from the opposite side of the galaxy. The graphics have been absolutely gorgeous, and the simulation of the entire galaxy is stunning (if a bit repetitive after a while). Having said that, there was definitely a learning curve for me as well when it came to this trip, even though I’d already clocked over 100,000 light years before I set out. And the time sink is definitely real - it will be a couple more months, at least, before I’m back in the inhabited part of the galaxy, and to keep up with the expedition I set out with originally meant devoting at least 8-10 hours/ week just to barely keep the pace.
Hey guys - remember that official Mudspike Group I applied for over 2 years ago? Still not had a thing back from FDev.
Still, with squadrons available I guess it’s a “moo” point! Wonder if that’s why they weren’t getting on with authorising the groups… There were a lot of unhappy people on their forums, wanting to form them.
I am such a long way from Sol. I don’t log enough hours so it’s taking me forever to rank up and get there. I think my problem is too many distractions (sims/games).
