Elite: Dangerous - updates!

I’ve been listening to OA for a few years now and I’ve always appreciated his comments as well thought out, and this video is no exception. However, my mind just flat refuses to match his face and voice together. It’s a little bit like spatial disorientation, when your brain is convinced that down is that way when you know full well it isn’t. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

I know exactly what you mean … that face … with that voice, just does not compute

His accent/diction is strange. Is that a regional thing or is this just a strange man?

I never expected him to look like that. Not that it makes any difference at all, his videos get me through some long drives.

His voice is relaxing.

Well listen who’s talking. I swear to god I will always expect you to look exactly like Baldrick.

I keep meaning to return to ED, but get drawn off to do something else.

Somewhere in the back of my head though, I can’t help feeling that Elite is winding down a bit which simultaneously dampens my enthusiasm to return, but also makes me feel like I should make an effort to enjoy her while she is still around.

What do you guys think?

As passionate as I have ever been about ED I also haven’t properly played probably for the past year and a half.
I did start up the game and logged a few minutes during the Christmas break because they granted free ARX (Special currency used to buy cosmetics in-game) but that’s about it… so I know how you feel.

Beside the amount of things that happen normally in life I didn’t like the narrative of the game (I haven’t killed a single Thargoid in ED for a number of reasons- and I don’t intend to start now) so I am treating it as if it was “Space Trucking & Exploration Flight Sim”. Or like some sort of “Zen Space Ship” thing.

My suggestion is the same as ever though- the best way to enjoy ED is to make your own “persona” imagine what they would do and live that up.
The game does offer plenty to do and there’s always something unexpected throwing a (admittedly small and manageable) wrench in your gears.
Overall there’s a number of important updates incoming from late summer to end-of-the year.

I can understand why it might feel that way but actually since I switched over to Odyssey it has felt the complete opposite. The Thargoid war and the various bits of narrative around it have kept the Elite-verse very busy. So much so that I have yet to get out of the Bubble and do any real exploring. It feels busier and faster paced to me than it has at any other point. I guess if I were stuck on the console version I might feel differently, though.

I absolutely adore how me and @HavlokUK gave you to almost completely polar opposite feelings about the game!

Brilliant.

Great- now i want to play again.
