And if you walk into a fair fight, you are doing it wrong.
Yep same here.
I am loading up my MiG-19 with bombs and nothing else.
IKUZOOOOOOOOOOOO
UPDATE: I weaved through SA-2s to recon Senaki and, on my way out, some little parasite with an Igla thwacked me.

I just got home..I’ll try to reset the server when I see it is empty… currently 0200 UTC so definitely in the next hour or so.. I see @MiG21bisFishbedL is on..so not sure why the server is unavailable for some..
Hmm..I just got on the server and it was working for me..and @MiG21bisFishbedL was on as well getting read to go HARM some SAM sites…
I was running 2.9.26.23303 when I joined..I’m assuming that is what the server is running.. I can reset it in a bit though…
I went ahead and jumped off for the night incase you want to go ahead and reset.
Thanks..I’m resetting it now. Should be back up.
Back up on my end ![]()
Senaki had largely been reduced to some armor units, so the Apache was the chosen ride. I had screwed up and loaded a Robbie tank, meaning I only had 300 rounds of 30mm, rather than 1200. Still cleared up about 80% with 3-4 hellfires left when a technical winged me from ridiculous distance and knocked out an engine. Long ride back at 150% torque to do 60 knots.
There as still an SA-6 up at SAM-Bravo, but looking at the layout I was willing to take my chances with a long maverick shot knocking out the radar. Cue the Warthog. Got the maverick shot I wanted, and even managed to get the SA-13 providing close cover. CBU run followed, and SAM-Bravo was no more.
However as per usual RedAir had sent our friend:
I clipped the Mi-8 with some 30mm and he dropped his cargo container. I thought that solved that problem, I would learn I was incorrect. Proceeded to clear out Senaki, and head back to Kobuleti. The Mi-8 landed and retook Senaki ![]()
Saw some light units, so grabbed a Hind and headed back up N. Ate an SA-2, that was an unwelcome development. Grabbed a Harrier, and went to work on the SA-2 site with sidearms, CBU’s, and MK-82’s.
Once again the traditional race of the CH-47 vs the Mi-8 was held.
Fortunately I had a pretty good head start.
Also the MFD in the CH-47 actually has different zoom levels here in Georgia, and there are TACAN’s! So much easier to get around with a working map and some nav aides.
Next stop will be Kutasi, I’m thinking hitting the runways with a load of Durandals from an F1 seems appropriately cold war.
Is the scoring correct? I killed a bunch of vehicles in a convoy and only got 1 AA and 1 Ground Unit point for it. I know I killed at least 5 vehicles in total.
I’m not sure. It is the default mission in almost every way except the Cold War switch and the splash damage switch I believe.
Server is reset at 2225 UTC.
Hmm..liberated Kutasai and then I had a CTD as I was delivering supplies to make it BLUE. Actually..worse than that..I had a complete system freeze. Had to hard reboot…
Spent a few hours on. Kutasai is blue now. Took out the SAM site northwest and the fuel depot out to the east about 50km. Was working on the insurgent base and had to drop off..it is pretty softened up but there is an SA-13 I think left on the northwest corner of the area…
How was the fuel depot, a repeat of the Mining Facility?
Ah yes spent some time yesterday attacking kutaisi but they kept sending out convoys that I kept trying to kill because I do not approve of such blatant offensive behaviour. Was good fun!
Yes.
Is it just me or is the smoke persistence or volume just not as great on this map? In the previous Foothold missions if you blew something up you would get thick and voluminous smoke to help find the target area…I noticed last night that the units smoke a bit..but not like what I’m used to seeing. Is it just me?
I think you are right Chris. I would bet that the Caucasus map was the first of the Foothold missions and things developed as new maps were added.
Oh buying target markers and deploying them when you get close is also a good idea! Worked wonders in Kola.
I need to check my settings though, I can only access the radio menu on the ground which is fine in a helicopter but tricky in a airplane.
Server down briefly while I make some edits. Down at 1945UTC should be back up by 2015UTC.
