Server is back up. I’m testing it right now..not sure if that ground fog goes away as the sun comes up…
I’m gonna hop on now too.
I’ll be on in VR and voice a bit later..just testing right now..but the server should stay up.
I changed the weather slightly..and also set the date to June 21..that will give the most sunlight hours..and set the time to 10 minutes prior to sunrise. (5:50-ish)…and raised the temperature.
That is a beautiful start. the fog burned away and the temps quickly rose.
I’m resetting my router @jenrick should be back up in a few minutes
You nailed it with the environmental settings, it is gorgeous on here at dawn.
Another system freeze (my play computer not my server). Not sure what is going on..just the whole thing locked up totally. Second time it has happened..never happened before..
throw the log into the analyser ED have on their discord. see what it says. Something’s rotten in the state of North Carolina.. ![]()
Hopped on for a bit this afternoon, and @BeachAV8R and I cleared out Sochi. We both had to drop off, but it is clear for capture. Just watch out for the SA-3 to the NE, if you stay below about 4000’ AGL shouldn’t bother you.
I took out the SA-3 with Mk82’s and @Freak captured Sochi while @TheAlmightySnark provided CAS
Unfortunately a Mi-8 landed on sochi as we wanted to get ready to capture it so I scrambled without zone supplies or troops. It only spawned a SA-13 and some infantry so that was easy enough to take care off. When I did the second run for some reason CTLD had not loaded the troops so Freak got the zone supplies there whilst Derby bombed most of the SAM site. I did some clean up work with Petrovich whom managed to steer most Ataca’s into non-targets so Freak came in with the S-24. I don’t think they hit close enough for damage. Only some AAA left on that site now though! The final Strela did suffer a AT-9 in the face.
Was a great night, thanks for joining, gents!
I couldn’t leave it be, so I cleaned up the final 2 ZSU-57s: one with a full load of S-13s and then the other with a point blank Ataka from a hover, Metal Gear Solid style
I just plussed up Sochi to 3/3 with some zone supplies.
Few pics from the past few days:

New environmentals are stunning
Tossed Mk84 in the Strike Eagle up and over a mountain ridge to take out the secret tech facility.
Ammo depot north of Sochi has been succesfully destroyed thanks to the mighty S-24 rocket! First one took out 3 IGLA Manpads that had been a menace before and after that it was smooth sailing!
I liberated Charlie, ran some supplies, and scattered aluminum all over the country side by the ammo depot. Tough nut to crack with the low cloud deck in the area and lots of SAM’s. @TheAlmightySnark in a Hind was apparently what it needed! I was enroute to start collecting my shot down selves when DCS crashed on me. Decided that was a good signal to call it a night.
Yeah I was spectating and figured you crashed out or something, shame! Plenty of pilots to collect north of Sochi if anyone wants some easy points!
that marking smoke you called in was also at the perfect time, I was pretty close on top of them so could quickly knock em out! The S-24 is perfect for groups of soft targets!
First Freak and I flew a little formation in the early Tomcat, Freak got too close to the SA-3 at Sochi and I decided to RTB to Gudauta.
Formed up with @TheAlmightySnark on the way back
After landing I switched to a Strike Eagle to bomb the SA-3
The fight for Charlie last night, got a bit exciting.

Don’t let it be said I don’t pick up after myself. I had bailed out 3 times over by the ammo depot, and a couple were in 2 seater birds, plus there was a random F-15C that got shot down there as well. Time to go clean up. This up in the mountains NE of Sochi, I wasn’t thinking about where I was going to need to pick myself up from when I hit the silk.
First pickup was on relatively flat ground in a valley, decent height trees, but there was a clearing to hover over. The second one was one was on a hill side.
Getting cozy with the trees, as to be honest I wasn’t sure how much “cable” we have on board.
Pickup #3 was on a relatively flat chunk of valley floor, but all trees so again a host pickup from some tall trees. There were two technicals out and about in the area as well.
Little bit of shooting to get in and out
Pickup #4, #5, and #6 were again in the forest along the mountain slopes. Pickup 6 was about 2500’ above me when I started for it from 3500’MSL.
Ended up coming in from below and lifting up to the side of the mountain. No clue if that’s a good idea or not, but I knew I had plenty of power in the CH-47 to make it work.
With 6 pilots collected it was time to head back to Sochi, climbing out to around 9000’ MSL to clear all the cloud rocks.
And made it!
Honestly a great flight, even without much “combat” to it. Flying in the mountains is tricky, and hovering off those steep slopes to make a pickup is a real challenge. Transit time was about 10-12 minutes each way, so there was a solid 25 minutes of airmanship making those pickups in difficult conditions. Real glad it wasn’t low light, that would have been a real bear.
