I remember that, I was staring at the TPOD display which had a “HOOK” indication. I was wondering WTF was a “hook”, was I missing some setting for something? Then I popped over to the external view and saw what it was all about.

Unfortunately (I was having fun) I have to head to bed early tonight for flying tomorrow.
Tank Factory is destroyed.

Came back after a while and tackled some of Maykop but didn’t get far. Managed to destroy a convoy coming out of it towards Foxtrot. Took some damage..so came back to Krasnodar to get a new plane. Next time over I killed the search and tracking radars for the SA-2 there (they were being a problem) and took out the SA-19 on the east side of the field. Still significant stuff there..and India just to the northeast of that has an SA-2 and SA-3 site I believe..so tread lightly up that way.

Nice work! I got stuck on the freeway headed home, apparently repaving a major highway takes precadence over my flight sim’ing.
@PaulRix and I worked over Sam India and Maykop, but it was a real fight. Paul was causing havoc in the Hornet with HARM’s and CBU’s, while I was getting shot down in the Hornet.
Decided an Apache made sense, and made a run up from Foxtrot, worked over the AAA and most of the other heavy stuff before a Scimitar blasted George, and a Hind finished us off. A-10 time.
Fired my last maverick at two T-62’s, not sure which one it’s gonna end up hitting.
Gun killed the other one in a few passes, and gunned a half dozen light units to flip it neutral.
Paul had taken out a lot of Sam India in the Hornet (and smacked down a Su-25 and a Hind while he was at it), but there were still some guns and a few launchers left. I knocked out a good chunk of what was left before a 100mm shell blew my Warthog right out of the sky. Paul grabbed a Chinook for the capture, I went for something with some style.
Sexy beast, ain’t she.
Should have gone for airburst fuses, but oh well. Knocked out everything but two ZSU-57’s with bombs and twin DEFA cannons while Paul got the capture. By that point he was airborne in a Kiowa with Hellfires, and we had a Hind in bound.
Blasted a wing off the hind and lit it on fire, but it serenely turned around to RTB. Lost my pitot tube tangling with it, and the FBW went all kinds of wonky as I was on final. Add another one to my tab. SAM India was cleared, and we called it a night.

Can’t see the server right now, is it down or just an issue on my end?
It was doing thing where it doesn’t show up in the browser, you had to connect direct by IP.

Yeah it was definitely having a bit of moment, seems to be fine again now!
Raced towards hotel with my trusty Hind because a Mi-8 was heading there with supplies. First AT-6 missed because the ■■■■■■■ was maneuvering as it dropped it’s load, though it didn’t appear to effect the FARP. Second one knocked it one, then unleashed the S-24’s on the FARP plus remaining missiles. Emptied my cannon and went home taking Paul Rix with me. Picked up most lost pilots around Maykop now, only a few on the south side remain.

I’m knackered (put in like 8h of overtime today) but can’t sleep so I’m hopping on for a bit if anyone wants to join 
I fkn hate the stalinium ai helicopters with exhaust covers. Had AIM-9L on. They wouldn’t track and riddling the Mi-8 with the gun doesn’t do anything -.-
He redeployed the SA-19 that I just killed… Literally emptied my gun, Helicopter kept flying.

Well, I destroyed the SAM site NE of Maykop (SA-6+SHORADS), took down a bunch of Fighter and Attack aircraft as well as one MI-8 that was about to resupply Hotel again. I am currently RTB, Hotel will have to be captured next but I am off to bed once I land.

I’ve been having the most annoying morning. First wanted to go attack Mozdok but 2 Hind V’s were comin. Fine. Petrovich nails one, misses the other 3 ATAKA’s and then the impeccable V’s gunner just nails me completely.
Alright, second attempt, lets go hunt it down on it’s way back. Again Petrovich takes 4 ATGM’s to knock it out of the sky for some reason. Fine. Then I get 2 21’s and 25’s hunting me!
So, in short, I’ve been dropping loads of friendly stingers around because I got a bit tired of the constant enemy air threat. Eventually just went up in a R-60 equipped Hind P and Stinger teams in the hope of getting those ■■■■■■■ because Mozdok keeps sending out 29’s(It got upgraded by a Mi-8).

I might give it another go later today. My style of doing logistics is too slow for doing it alone on foothold. I have an allergy to hot starts which means when I take the C-130J it takes me about 15-20min to get off the ground and by that time there’s usually an Mi-8 that has recaptured the zone before I get there 
Flew a bit last night with @jenrick - started out with logistics..capturing Hotel with a CH-47 from Golf. I assume @Derbysieger cleaned it out and it was awaiting capture. After that we headed for India..but right as that kicked off an insurgent zone popped up just north of India that required a bit of joint effort.
I think this was @jenrick the night before…and me doing some CSAR work. Funny because I only just recently figured out how to arm the gunners in the CH-47..and I was coming over a treeline to pick up an ejected pilot all of the sudden the roar of the door gunner opening up filled my ears and I just about jumped out of my seat.

@jenrick was hunting Mi-24s with his Hellfires..but had already taken some damage so I don’t think they were working. We leaned heavily on our CAP and Escort flights last night..they saved the day a few times.

All of my sorties left me with damage or an engine loss. Fortunately never crashed or had to eject..but the 110 mile flight back to Maykop at 220 knots and no autopilot was a bit of a chore.
It was a good, short-ish night for me. It will be nice to capture Min Vody to shorten up some of the flight times for fixed wing…

Yep, it was neutral when I got on but there was already an Mi-8 enroute which captured it before I got there. I neutralised it again and then concentrated on the SA-6. Hotel was recaptured, cleared and then recaptured by AI again before I was finished with the SA-6. I then neutralised Hotel and cleaned up the SHORADS at the SA-6 and on my way home I shot down a Su-25, a MiG-23 and an Mi-8 that was on its way to recapture Hotel before landing and logging off for the night.

Those Mi-24V’s can bloody tank a lot of missiles and other damage. There’s definitely something wrong in the model there!

Pretty sure that’s intentional to mitigate how terrible the AI is. They have no survival instinct programmed in.
Fair, but they keep knocking F-18’s out of the sky which seems a bit silly. A Hind entering a dogfight should not be able to win.

Oh I am not saying it’s good. I find it really bloody annoying but it’s the “fix” ED decided on to make the AI helis not completely useless.

Mineralnye is neutral..good grief it took a lot of work. Mi-8 on the way but my CAP got him. But I have a 20 min flight back to base…
