I’ve kinda been holding off until people could be more active, felt a bit unfair to just keep rolling up bases until there was nothing left anymore! Plus flying together is always better!

Unfortunately work has prevented me from flying DCS this past week. Next week looks like it will be the same. I have really enjoyed flying this campaign on the Kola map. It was a refreshing change from the desert.

Is the server down? It probably needs an update to show on the list. No worries @BeachAV8R if you can’t get to it.
I believe it’s going to still be on the old version, I could access it last night under the old version.

I’m so disappointed I’ve missed this push across this map. Just a confluence of work, contract flying, and attending to kids that have had me either out of town..or falling into bed exhausted each day. It will pass..and then I’ll be back with y’all…

Did a quick resupply run on the southern flank. The Chinook was not available, so I picked the trusted Huey! Started from V… and made it to Savukovski in one piece, nothing happened in flight

It’s going to have to be a group effort, or someone who is way better at solo DCS than I am to roll this up. Took up a Hornet to Monchegorsk 3 times I think, killed a bunch of radars and SAM’s. Grabbed a Strike Eagle with JSOWs. Head up and what do I see?
Not 1, but 2 cargo flights in bound.
JSOW’s off, carnage ensues.
But the AI doesn’t care.
And just like that, all that damage was for naught.
There are at least 3 SA-10’s between Murmansk, 35, 36, and the Laplandiya Storage. There is at least one SA-11 at 35 and one I believe at Apatity. Add in a healthy amount of SA-15’s and SA-8’s. Finally top that off with the red resupply flights, and it’s a cast iron… well insert your languages preferred finish to that.

Fridge.
A cast iron fridge. Which might not be a real thing but can you imagine trying to get rid of a cast iron fridge?!?
Beside that, I’ll be back between the 7th and the 8th, but that weekend I will spend it with my kids. After that I’m up for DCS Enlistment.

I spent some time working Monchegorsk this evening. First, I established a FARP (Paris) close enough that I could do some recon in the area without too much transit time. Then I placed some SAM sites fairly close to the airfield, the idea being that they would take care of any resupply aircraft. I then placed FARP Moscow adjacent to the closest SAM site. After that I went hunting with my favorite SAM killer, the Kiowa. I started out using Hellfires, and once the SA-10 and SA-8 batteries were disabled, I cleaned up with APKWS rockets.
The airfield is now captured and I placed a couple of Patriot batteries just north of the field. I’m hoping that will keep it fairly secure. I did use a fair few team points and lost 2 Kiowas though. I hope it was worth it.

Well like I said, it would take someone significantly better at SP DCS than me to crack that nut. BZ @PaulRix! You knocked out in a night what I had been trying to figure out for a week. I don’t know why I hadn’t thought about dropping some SAM’s over there, we’d done it in the two previous foothold missions.

It still took me awhile to crack it… I used to wonder why the opening shots of the first Gulf War were taken by attack helicopters rather than fixed wing strike fighters.. but I think I get it now.

How does one roll back a DCS version? I updated to the hotfix 2.9.26.23303 version, and I believe the Foothold server is still on the 23111.1. Thanks in advance!
