I love rivals!

I need to look at the rivals mode more closely. I did a few laps. When I beat another player’s time, it loaded the next fastest for the following lap, and so on.

I’ve been wondering whether this might be the preferred mode for leveling up my cars, instead of the Career Cup events.

Thing is, in the Career Cup, changing my car’s performance after every race feels like I never actually get a good handle on how my car performs. It’s different every single race. And then comes the point when the tires “unlock” and to afford them, I often pull CXP out of other less meaningful upgrades, and go for the tires. So then everything about the car’s handling from before is out the window altogether. And by that time, it’s the last race or two of the series.

But if I practice in Rivals, level up the car, then go in and set some upgrades and tune before going into Cup races, at least I’ll have a more steady baseline of performance to work from. Or so I imagine.

5 laps at Leman, should level her up pretty good.

I use this all the time except for the nurburgring, laguna seca and catalunya. I know them like the back of my hand so its just a case of adjusting for the car

For any of you achievement hunters… 5 rare achievements that you won’t know about unless you read a list like this, lol, or randomly select the right car and track.

Just free race, rent the car or buy it, don’t need to win. Short races are fine but longer give more driver points…

Bonus: Can use quick or advance race setup… advance set up lets you select AI level and a few other things, quick defaults to level 1 all the time, it sucks.

  1. 2021 Porsche 911 GT3 at Kyalam GP circuit.

  2. 2023 Cadillac 01 (has to be 01) Series R at Lemans, Full circuit.

  3. 2020 Toyota CR Supra at Hakone, CLUB circuit.

  4. 2020 Ferrari Roma at Mugello, Full.

  5. 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SD 455 at Eaglerock, CLUB.

Today I learned you can change the cars on the home screen.

If you use quick, you can select setup before the race and adjust the AI. Doesn’t let you select start positions though…

So why make us ask? How? Been trying to do that since day 1.

Slect a car in you garage and once you select it there should be an option to add car to the garage and then you can choose one of 4 slots.

Ya I got that, the 4 slots are full but how do you make it the car on the menu screen… still defaults to my first one, the Mustang.

Hmmm ill have to check later. Maybe it didnt change that screen.

Rivals mode is considered the best mode to level up. You get car and driver xp, and money.

you mean all the YT Influencers haven’t heard of this, lol, they still telling everyone to plop their car in a 5 lap run on old lemans, then upgrade it, and do another 20 laps in auto drive mode.

When test driving a few cars to find what I want for a series, I use Quick Race, set it to timed 10 minute event, with 0 AI. Lets me get a feel for the cars at my own pace, and I get a credit payout, too. Between 9,000 and 13,000 credits for the 10 minutes.

And if I choose test drive mode, which is the same thing? I get no credits.

Changes coming for car level progression in the first patch.

When I logged in this afternoon, my menu screen had my cars that I selected to be in the 4 spots.

Since the 1.0 update, fps has dropped dramatically for most users. Not sure if anyone here specifically has noticed. I have… at least 20-30 fps. It’s sitll playable, but for many not so much. The 1.1 patch didn’t address it. Hopefully we’ll see something soon that addresses the fps issue.

What the hell do some of these people do during the 30 min practice and qualification sessions? lol

Now I’m just a casual racer, but I understand the game and know how to respect other drivers. You can see me slowing down instead of slamming the guy in front of me spinning his tires. Then I’m a pinball during turn 1. Then all the spinners on the stretch. lol

After that first lap and being knocked to last place… the race was good, clean, and respectful. The idiots on the first lap died out and most quit. Then half didn’t plan their tire strategy at all and started sliding then quitting the last few laps.

Still love this game, even the public multiplayer… well done with practice sessions, qualification, then the race where you need to think about your tires and fuel.

Lap 1 then my pit with 3 to go…
