FSEconomy - Mudspike Air Delivery Rebirth

Thanks! All is good, just haven’t been on the forums much lately.

I just had a look at MAD status. It’s all good except it seems like we are leasing a DC-3 and we’re late on the payment. But I don’t to whom I should send the money?

A few months ago I purchased a Beechcraft-18 and gave it to MAD. I’ve put it back on sale with the intention to swap it for a DHC-2 Beaver since it’s now a default aircraft in MSFS. The Beechcraft is on sale for 360k and the cheapest Beaver is available for 270k so we might make a a little profit.

Well, it happened quicker than I expected. Bye bye Beechcraft-18, hello DHC-2 beaver :sunglasses:
I also took the liberty to sell our PA-28 and C-172. IIRC both plane I had given to MAD, not that I consider I get to do what I want with those but looking at the logs nobody was flying them. I was the only one who ever flew with the PA-28 and the C-172 last flight was nearly 2 years ago, in february 2021.
I figured either of these were unlikely to see more action in the future and I replaced them with a Bell 407.
If anybody is upset with this, please let me know and I’ll do my best to bring them back in the MAD hangar as quickly as possibe.

So, I hopped on a plane for Toulouse since our Beaver is sitting on a small airfield a few km’s south of the city. Pierre, the former owner, was already waiting for me when I arrived.

“Hi! Hope inn” he said when he saw me walking towards his buggy.
“Take ze will, I have some payperwork to feenish”.
Pierre immediatly struck me as a very friendly guy. Very cheap too, as he was using his aviation GPS in his buggy.

When I inquired about the straight majenta line he replied “hey, don’t whorry. Dis sing will drive anyware”

So I proceeded across the small countryside roads

And finally arrived at the airport

I parked the buggy and after a small walk, there she was!

He did a small tour of the aircraft with me, assuring me everything was in top shape

The interior seemed a bit “lived in” and the smell made me wonder if someone actually lived there for some time.

But then he complained about violent headaches, wine-induced I assumed but I didn’t ask, and told me he needed to go.

Before leaving he asked if I’d be interested in ferrying 8 of his wine barrels sitting in a hangar in Toulouse. He needed them near the coast. We’re in business already

Time to start the old girl and head back to Toulouse

I’m not sure if anyone is still interested in FSE but I have slightly restructured the group.
I’ve sold most of the planes, nobody was flying them and the monthly fees were stacking up.
We still own a DHC-2 Beaver, a C208 Caravan, a Bell-206 and a DC-3.

I’ve built a few FBOs in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. To better manage them I’ve created 2 “subsidiaries”:
Mudspike Air Delivery - Alaska

and Mudspike Air Delivery - Pacific Northwest

If anybody wants to join you are more than welcome.

I’ve also made a few liveries for aircraft we own…and aircraft I wish we’d own… :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice! Cool liveries as well!

The thing that irks me about FSE is that it doesn’t let me fly from places I want. Rather you need to look for an aircraft and then fly it out of whereever it is located.

The result is that is takes a fair bit of time to get in pit.

I thought Beach set up an AI pilot to do some runs to keep the virtual expenses down or was that a different sim?

Wheels

True.
On the other hand it often lead me place I wouldn’t never have been. For me, this used to be an issue with FSX or X-Plane because I only wanted to fly where I had Orbx scenery or Orthos but it’s no longer an issue with MSFS.

I think that was with Air Hauler, as far as I know you can’t setup AI pilots in FSE
