So are these our options to fly out of for M.A.D.? Or can we fly kinda where-ever as long as we send some money back to the mother org?
You can fly where ever you want. You just have to select “Fly for M.A.D.” on the my flight section before you take off. If you use the company planes, you will save us some money, if you fly into/out of our FBO’s you will also save on fuel, boarding fees, ground crew, etc.
In a nut shell, if you want to make the company the most money, fly into/out of the FBO. If you want to just have fun and save a little money, use our planes. If you want to just fly and help out a little, do whatever you want and fly the assignment “For us”. If you want to just donate cash, you can transfer funds to M.A.D. also. Some times I forget to fly for the company and just donate the proceeds.
Its in the top of this screenshot.
Update on our cash flow situation:
Thanks to everyone who has been chipping in, we’re sitting around 350k in cash right now. May have enough to get a new aircraft in a few days.
Both FBO’s have been making money on fuel sales and through ground crew fees. The biggest black-eye we have right now is the C208 Caravan. It still needs 130k in repairs to be made air worthy, but I don’t think its worth dumping cash into it if nobody is going to use it. I would use it, but I also don’t want to pay full price for a dated Carenado model. We could sell it, but its not my plane to make that decision on. I think the C172 will be good to keep around, especially if we end up building another FBO back in Idaho.
Thank you to everyone who has been helping out, giving me something to do lately!
I’m finally off starting tomorrow. I have the Carenado 208 and can run some jobs with it. Let me take a trial run with a smaller aircraft tomorrow though and make sure my plug-in is working correctly.
EDIT - Can it be the XP11 version of the Caravan?
It doesn’t matter what version. Any 208 will do. You just may need to tinker with the plugin to make sure it is recognizing the model. There’s a page in the manual that explains it. Can’t recall off hand. Been a couple years.
When you try to start the flight on the plugin, it will ask you to set an alias for that plane. Basically the alias matches your plane in the client with the type of aircraft you rented. You only have to do this one time, it will remember it after that.
That many jobs!?
Regarding aliases. What will happen if I set ingame alias for my C172 as C206 Stationair? Just mismatch in fuel consumption or something worse?
I’m pretty sure it won’t work. If the fuel use is too far off what it is supposed to be, the flight will be cancelled.
On my way to U65 with two passengers in a Cessna 172 on a test run of this system. The alias thing sorta threw me for a loop. I just entered Cessna 172 figuring that must be a close enough match (I’m using the default Laminar Cessna 172SP).
Can I close the X-Economy window in X-Plane after I takeoff and reopen it to end the flight when I reach U65 or does it remain open constantly?
Once I get to U65 - do I need to pick up another job back to ID88 to make the plane available at the base - does it track where the plane is for all users?
Yes. The plane stays where you leave it when you complete your flight via the plugin.
Edit: individuals though can fly from anywhere. You just need to respect the flight hours per day rules that are in effect. Or is it per week? I forget. But there’s no accounting for flying in Idaho one hour then Singapore 10 minutes later. You just need planes available in those locations.
OK - so is it considered good etiquette to return a plane to its base then? These are probably good questions to ask on Discord - but my wife is working from home these days…so I gotta be sorta quiet. LOL…
Depends. Most plane owners put directional bonuses on their rental fees so if you want to fly it far from its base of operations it’s going to cost you. Since it’s our plane, if you leave it somewhere nearby and there’s jobs available, I wouldn’t have a problem. But I’m also not flying fse right now so… More up to the gents you’re “playing” with.
I think I screwed up and didn’t make this flight payable to MAD because the monitoring page says “This flight is being flown for BeachAV8R” - I might have missed a step. Can I transfer the money made to MAD though after the fact. Heck…I hope I have the passengers aboard. (I’ve said this in real life as well…)
Well, it does say:
Your flight has been started:
19 gallons of fuel onboard
1 assignments loaded
So hopefully my pax are on there… They sure don’t talk much…
Yes you can transfer money in the banking screen. You can also close the plugin and re open it after you start the flight.
I transferred $500 of that to MAD I think…or someone else in the virtual flying universe got some eCash…LOL…
Indeed, also you now need to recruit 5 new members @BeachAV8R so that you can become a distributor and start making some real money! Soon enough you’ll be double diamond interchange level member!
Also we’re an MLM now I suppose…
I know I should read a FAQ or something, but it is way easier (for me) to ask questions here. LOL… So if I bang up an airplane while I’m flying it, does the repair level or repairs required for MAD members become a factor? - in other words…is damage persistent across the FSE user base?
