Thanks. Still digging through the manual(s). Got questions but I’ll look at the Group help stuff first.
Make sure you guys choose to fly assignments for MAD, other wise the company doesn’t receive any money.
I see no Assignments for the group. I’m just today getting this all setup so bare with me…so
-
A Staff Weenie
needs to create an assignment first.
-
Then I can take it (and I’ll take anything right now just to get me feet wet).
Though I’m deep into Honey-do’s till evening but have all night after that. -
Pick an aircraft from the Group-owned ones (and that I actually own in the sim), set it up for the assignment and “go”.
Funding for assignment comes from where? Group funds. My account is 0$ And I don’t see any way to get $ to start yet; I have neither the Chicken or the Egg. But I’m still looking/researching (in between running the framing hammer out back)
You can fly any assignment for the group. Just hit the “Fly for MAD” on the top of the My Flight page.
I didn’t make a bunch of assignments because it kind of depends on what plane you want to fly and where.
Yeah, I’m getting there. Now up to this step:
Status: Ready for departure from [ID88]
This flight is being flown for [Mudspike Air Delivery (M.A.D)]
Aircraft Distance Bonus: 250.00
…etc
Your good to go!
Ok, account approved, Python script added. Now to add the planes into my profile… And the FlyWithLUA script. And update LittleNavMap. And let the dog out (again). And chase him out of the garden again. And refill the animals water bowl.
I’ll be up and flying after that. And starting laundry.
I just had to start building a deck first…
Death By Skyhawk
ID88…KBTM
First go: XP CTD ~2/3 way there. GRRR! I hit the “M” key. Won’t do that again (who needs maps)
Second go: WX Delta Sierra (worse than go #1). Got icky so turned back; couldn’t get over the junk.
Third go: In progress. Filed IFR using the lowest MEA’s I could find. Adding an extra hour to leg. Crossing fingers no CTD. Back hurts. VR in the clag, with precip coming at you is a whole different feeling. Love it.
Sounds fun!! I just flew a DC3 from Long Beach to parts unknown Mexico. Luckily the Nav beacon was only 2 miles from the field, low light, no field marking, I had to do circles out from the beacon until I found a strip!
…do I even want to know what was in your cargo hold?
YEAH! I hear ya. Fun stuff.
As for me:This is what happens when you know just enough to be dangerous.
Need to read up on how XP does WX, specifically, it seems - icing?! Cruising along, at FL120, sun’s gone down. Gray ugly fluffy line in front of me. No prop-lemo. I’m at the MEA. Motor’s purrin. Then it got really dark.
Strobes blinding me. Easy fix. Raining like crazy. Only it was kinda white-colored. Then the engine sagged and said, “Nope, no mas”. Pitot heat on: Check. Still going down. “Mommy!”. Dive into KSMN. Wind shear! And more rain. Nice!
I’m curling up in the backseat til this blows over. This high mountain, nasty weather, in an anemic single screw hunk of aluminium, is an eye-opener.
And I’m checking the WX better next time.
Actually that AS350 was my second flight.
My first go was T-6 Texan. I spawned on the field and there were thunderstorms and fog thick like butter. It went like - cancel flight, cancel aircraft
How about buying my own aircraft? Does it make sense? I mean it doesnt IRL but how about in FSE world?
Basically you don’t have to rent one so, you can potentially make money faster. The planes are expensive and also a require maintenance. You can also lease planes from other players. Pretty deep economic system at work.
Ick. I want no part of that when airborne, real or virtually
…and I see a WX opening to complete my trip for MAD. Need to complete b4 SC drops.
Man this is cool! Wish I knew about it before! Seems to work with XP-10 too though it’s not officially supported.
