Game Deals & Book thread

I would love to see a VR version of Black Mesa, the (very good!) HL remake.

HL2:VR is a lot of fun.

Concur, Black Mesa took Half Life one and elevated it… Stunning job.
Only little issue with me is the different AI behaviour, but beside that… a near perfect 9.5/10

WEEKEND DEAL! Offer ends December 7

There’s a free weekend trial of Hell let Loose.
I tried it and I like what I see, the way it “feels”…but playing with a bunch of randos was most definitely not the way to play it.

Disjointed, fragmented teamplay and frankly appalling behavior…

Dunno.

That’s the problem with Multi-Player only games… especially shooters.

Another of my recommended from the Steam Sale.

Some may remember the horrifying Propagation VR game in my freebies thread… This is the same stuff made into a full game, so if the other one made you change your nappies…

I couldn’t get it to run in any other resolution other than 1280 x 720

Tried 2 or 3 times then binned it

Were you trying to play it in borderless mode?! :scream_cat:

Nope nope nope

Ya know, I wasn’t sure I would like Horizon Zero Dawn, but now I’m glad I grabbed it in the sale. I’m getting Major Skyrim vibes in the general feel, exploration, sidequests and ongoing storyline. Very high Quality!

I’m on the fence about getting this. It looks awesome but there is something holding me back.

Well… I pretty much felt the same. Without the sale, I probably would have sat on the fence forever. But with the price drop and the possibility of using a VR mod I took the plunge and I’m actually so happy with the game that I don’t even need VR now to provide the additional interest.

If you like Skyrim, then this hits many familiar/similar notes, at least for me.

Looking back, too many videos made me think the game was some sort of button mashing twitch based combat thingy, when it’s actually much more thoughtful and strategic than that, which if I had known, would have made the purchase a no-brainer a lot earlier.

Now I feel It’s actually a shame I ignored this so long; but I’m glad I finally got it around to it! (Thanks Steam!) At this point I’m certain to grab Forbidden West right away when it comes out on PC, unless they try to charge something outrageous.

Anyway, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here:

Lemme tell ya’ something…

Propagation: Paradise hotel… Normally, I laugh/sneer at horror movies, and horror games are even worse, struggling to scare you while in fact being so predictable that I usually believe one has to be just naturally skittish (Gurls) to be affected.

But I’ll say up front Propagation has scared the crap out of me multiple times, and I’ve decided I don’t personally know a single person capable of finishing this game. In fact, I can already Imagine people I know screaming bloody murder and ripping off the headset with firm and repeated “Nopes”.

I’m actually not so certain I’m gonna make it all the way through, but in the meanwhile I’ve already said some vile curses that are completely unlike me, and experienced numerous bone-cold chills right up from my toes.

This info will either intrigue you, or will make sure you never even consider buying this game.

YOU, decide! :joy_cat:
