MSFS pc does it require steam, or is Steam just a good way to go?
You don’t need Steam, you can buy it directly from MS… You can also try it out by subscribing to Game Pass. Personally I prefer to buy direct, especially if it is a game/sim where I will be adding a lot of DLC.

I did the same.
But if you own a Steam Deck, you want to buy it on Steam, as the Microsoft Store version does not work on the Steam Deck
Though if you have a tablet, or now even just a metaquest (or heck, even just a cellphone!) you can play MSFS remotely via gamepass…

Does it work on Win10?
I could never get it to run on Win7 and kept an XP partition just to play Fallout 3.

For those who, like me in actuality (-RASPBERRY!!!-), have often been kind of curious about Forza - they are selling Forza Horizon 4 & 5 Ultimates for a shade under £60 in the winter sale on Steam. Apparently a total saving of £165 
Be warned, though - Forza 5 is 170GB and Forza 4 is about 97GB. Took me several hours to download them. But you do get all the DLC included.
I’ll be using those for when I fancy a bit of a driving laugh, with a gamepad rather than chasing @Chaz with a steering wheel/pedals.

I absolutely LOVED forza horizons 4. It might be my favourite non-serious racing game of all time. FH5 was not as much fun to be honest. I think it was the mexican setting. It was so so bumpy.
But 4 was totally glorious

Horizon 1 thru 4 were all great. 5 is good but didnt really bring anything new to the table. Even the dlc was used before.
I love the Horizon series because of the open world aspect. You get to drive your cars in a non race setting. Its neat, to say the least.
Honestly though, im not sure how the can make Horizon 6 difernet enough to make it great again.

I spent about an hour trying to get it to start and looking around all the posts on the internet - there are an awful lot - with fixes to get this game started. Even the official Forza known issue list has lots of stuff, including not starting with the current nVidia drivers.
However I fixed it by removing the TargetHardwareProfiler.dll

I have been hesitant on the Horizon games. I played them both for a couple hours via GamePass earlier in the year.
But I was never sure if I could just free-roam in a favorite car, if I’d have to first put in hours earning credits and “unlocks” to do that with the cars I wanted. I didn’t have time to get that far into either back on GamePass.
The detail on Horizon 5 is awesome. But the country roads on the UK map have a stronger appeal to me.

Do any of the Forza games allow you to not display all the XP points thingys and bonus stuff and all that gamey type stuff that flashes up on the screen? I recall trying something…might have been The Crew 2…and all that kind of stuff flashing up on the screen just killed the vibe for me. I don’t mind some stuff…but the constant popping up of XXXX Points…power slide… Largest Air XXXX points… Ugh…I just can’t…

It does kind of do that as well. Its by far more arcade style than i can usually cope with and know exactly what you mean. But it did really click with me. Maybe because its in the UK and at least partially believable
It may also be the Hospital records record station. Drum and Bass, 1200hp and nissan skylines…
Obi building a 900HP unimog and a hummer H1 and then smashing them to bits.
Also my absolutely GLORIOUS rendition of the El Camino from “My name is Earl” complete with blue door (and 800hp)
Man i had a lot of fun in that game. 248mph I believe was my fastest speed in my Diablo.
