Has anybody seen or played this?
It doesn’t feel as exaggerated as V2, but I’ll have to go back and give it a second look.
After a quick check, it’s not as V2, but still exaggerated to some degree. However, you can actually adjust for distance, now. Up to 500m.
For anyone interested in playing this again there is a Discord Channel with mods available. Just came across the video yesterday and it does look promising. The GoG version will work with the mods.

Has anyone played The Elder Scrolls Online lately? Is it worth playing?
I was too angry at them to ever try it. The Elder Scrolls series was the last great offline RPG series left.
I was too, but the Morrowind and Summerset chapters did pique my interest as they were the Elder Scrolls that I liked lol, just trying to figure out if $25 is worth it.
I played a bit of the alpha and beta, felt kinda meh about the whole thing, and reinstalled Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim SE with an embarrasingly long list of mods for each.
Waiting to see how TES 6 will look, and hoping it’s not as bad as the last two Fallout games (but not holding out much hope, honestly).
I felt the same after the beta, I hope it’s gotten better in the past 6 years though ![]()
Me and the wife occasionally tried to play it but it’s not a patch on the single player experience
I’m actually playing Skyrim SE right now for the first time. I played the original plus DLCs back in 2012/13 and I finally got around to playing it for the 2nd time, this time the SE.
I tried mods, but I only ever could get basic ones to work. The ones that add a house, or add a quest, or a companion, fix bugs, those kinds.
Not a single visual overhaul one ever worked for me. Never got better lighting, textures, effects, none of it. Not for the original, and not for SE.
So I gave up and I’m playing SE unmodded. It’s fine.
This is what you want to use to administer mods:
And this is pretty much mandatory:
And there are guides and entire lists of mods you can download that basically come as entire packages that expand gameplay, add in previously cut content, etc. If you’d like, I can point you in that direction (just started a new game in SkyrimSE, currently enabled mods are right around 100).
I recently got back to Star Citizen. Since 3.8 object container streaming was implemented on the server side (without it the more players on server - the worse performance for clients) and even though there are still many bugs and servers crashes the scope of the game can be felt and it can be quite enjoyable experience. Also because of some bug, everyone was granted access to MISC Freelancer - pretty versitale ship which can be used for most things from combat to hauling cargo.
Here are some shots from my recent adventures in the Verse:
Heading for Daymar, one of Crusader’s moons.
Moon Yela and its picturesque ring.
Back at Port Olisar, where we all started from.
I just parked my Aurora in somebody’s Carrack sitting next to Port Olisar. It was tight fit.
Some bugs - I helped this guy fend off some pirates, after closer inspection there was nothing more I could do to help him personally…
Bounty hunting near Yela, on of Crusader’s moons.
Lorville on Hurston, the city even has tram system that you have to take if you spawn in living quarters here - it takes you 2 trams to get to the spaceport. Or you can go to the city gates, and if you have some vehicle you can get it out from the hangar and roam the planet from there.
There are also some NPCs roaming around ![]()
Sorry for the wall of screenshots, but the game looks soooo damn fine.
Reminds me to hop in again, too.
I do so every two months or so and so far I always had a good amount of fun.
That now makes 2 games I haven’t played in 6 years
Yeah, I got the mods that add stuff to work, it’s the visual overhaul ones that stubbornly refuse to.
Better skies? Nope. Improved 3D models? Nope. Better object textures? Nope. I see them in the load order, I try juggling them around, there’s no errors–they just fail to do anything. So my screenshots of modded Skyrim look just like unmodded.
Granted SE doesn’t look like 2011. It looks like 2013. I was just hoping to make it look 2016 or so.
Since TES seems like a no, I’ll move on to my next possible choice. I’m trying hard to find something to play. Anyone with thoughts on Dynasty Warriors 9 that doesn’t involve their business model?
I’m just giving this one a try while DCS is updating. Pretty interesting. I hope I get into it. Did some of the tutorials but got bored and started my first mission:
Oh man…is that KSP? That has been on my list a long, long time to learn…
“Surviving Mars” is actually it’s name - although the screenshot is very KSP-like, now that you said it! This is more like a colony building game by the looks. Makes me want to re-read the Red/Blue/Green Mars sci-fi trilogy ![]()
But yes…KSP is amazing. I have spent a lot of time playing it back in the day. Apparently there’s a new one coming too.
