Gremlins

Got another 1238 pages out of the old printhead on the HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g Model: CM750A since I posted in December. Finally got tired of the error messages about a missing or damaged printhead and replaced it. The final tally for the old print head was 62,833 pages in 9 years and 8 months. An average of about 542 pages a month.

Biggest concern I had about replacing the printhead is that the one in the printer, which was original to the printer, was a CM751-80013-A printhead but everything I found online including the manuals said it should need a CR322A printhead. I bought the CR322A printhead in March but I kept putting replacing the old printhead off because of the numbers mismatch. Glad to say the new printhead is working well. Hopefully the printer lasts long enough to get another 60,000 pages through it…

Lol, Earthquake this morning

and a power outage now…

First time in over a decade that we had to use one of these Hurricane lamps.

Power is going to be out for at least 2 hours or 9:30pm Pacific.

Oh and one final kicker to this lovely situation. It is still over 100 degrees Fahrenheit outside.

11:45 pm and still no power in the neighborhood. Temperature is still above 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

Literally just came back on. So just about 7 hours without power. Now got to hope there is not a boomerang outage because of everything that was still on in the neighborhood coming back online at the same moment.

Wheels

yep could be a bit of a demand spike there

Nothing I can do about it but this is past being even the least bit funny. Power just went out again in the neighborhood at 7:53 am.

Temperature outside is already 90 degrees and is forecast to reach 108 degrees Fahrenheit today.

Edit:

10 am and the power is on again. Had a blown transformer about 3 doors down. Now the next waiting game to the next outage begins.

I unplugged my Gateway router. If I leave it unplugged for 20 minutes will my Internet service be restored today?

Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.

Well I like a good laugh but your post, even though it somehow conjured up Discobot, is a wee bit too esoteric for me to follow. Care to elaborate? :sunglasses:

Was your Internet service restored after you left your router unplugged for 20 minutes?

Yes. The router was left unplugged for over an hour so technically it was restored after 20 minutes.

Posting to see if there is going to be a pattern. I had to unplug Spectrum’s gateway router again today so it would reboot and find the signal. Left it off for about an hour.

For the time being all is well…

Wheels

Well the Gateway router lost the signal again…

Just plugged the Gateway router back in and all is working. Will have to give Spectrum a call if it goes out again any time soon.

And the Spectrum Gateway router lost the signal again about 10 minutes ago. Looks like it is down to a service call now.

For now the unplug for 20 to 30 minutes routine is where everything stands.

Wheels

Edit:
It was not an equipment failure this time. When I logged into my Spectrum account using my phone there was a message telling me that they were having intermittent issues in my area. It finally cleared up around 5:20 pm Pacific Time or about 15 minutes ago.

This time around the little guys have done a great number hiding my checkbook. I have been looking for the last two weeks for the darn thing and the more I look for it the more the locations I choose to search become less and less rational
