my god … I haven’t used a check or even had a check book in about the last 10 years … ![]()
I was down to writing about two checks a month for about that long @tempusmurphy but I am still too stubborn and just not quite ready to make that transition to paying for everything using online banking. This may be the last straw that makes me convert to online payments for everything though???

Nothing like starting out the New Year on a such a positive note. My gaming computer has decided to refuse to boot up. It just starts to boot up and then shuts down mid boot up sequence. What is the most frustrating about this glitch is that as far as I could tell everything was working just fine Friday night when I shut it down.
Hopefully this is not an indication of how the rest of the year will pan out…

Dang it! It’s days like that when I want to boot my PC out the window and go off grid! ![]()
Bugger!
On the plus side, maybe it is the Universe telling you that you need a new gaming computer and you had better not ignore the message?
Lol, I checked my finances and the Universe had better be willing to provide the funds for that new toy too. ![]()

It has been about 18 months and I never did find my checkbook. The only thing I can come up with is that I may have accidentally thrown it away. There was and still is a trash can kept next to where I used to keep the checkbook.
Lucky 13…
It has been roughly 13 months since my gaming computer had the problem I quoted. To keep from running into the problem I typically leave it running 24/7.
Today as a precaution after having two power surges within 90 seconds or less I powered the computer down using its shut down sequence. I thought I should be well protected since I have a whole house surge suppressor and I also have the computer on a surge suppressor power strip. At the moment it will not even let me boot into the Bios. ![]()

I had (still have actually) a very very similar problem.
What is your MoBo? Can you check if there’s a blinking LED on it?
If so, could you try to jostle/reseat/remove and reinsert the main power plug from the PSU to the MoBo?
Also I “cured” that problem by putting my PC to sleep instead of letting it run.
Came down and gave it another shot and the computer booted up normally. As usual no rhyme or reason why it worked.
Will keep your suggestions in mind @komemiute.

This the gremlin thread, yeah?
My bus just broke down. It won’t clutch. Im sat here roadside waiting for the tow.
Solid pedal or straight to floor?
I had a similar problem with my Alfa Romeo, the clutch wire (cable?) was loose.
Had to push the pedal, so to speak, through the floor to achieve a little clutching capacity. Horrid sound. Stopped and got it towed.
Solid pedal. It worked for a bit after the first tow (!!) as it had cooled down. I nearly made it to my own garage but had to call in another tow.
These b’stard french cars have the clutch cylinders inside the gear box casing so it’s going to cost a fair dime to get it fixed ![]()
Note the bit of wood I fixed the rear end with, where a bit of plastic had fallen off ![]()
Didn’t Top Gear characterise those as “that one abusive girlfriend you had in your late teens/early twenties, good looking but very high maintenance”
Yup, that’s my girl. Ex girl.
My renault master is the same.
The Humvee’s master cylinder is in the glovebox next to the .45 (probably).
I feel for you.
Watch out fellow Mudspikers. These things happen in three’s ![]()
My Navara was working a couple of days ago but when I went to start it yesterday morning… Nup.
It will crank but won’t start, seems like there isn’t any fuel getting to the injectors and of course Nissan would have a proprietary ODB plug wouldn’t they
so I can’t read what error codes it is throwing.
At least I have a mate in the Brigade who is a diesel mechanic who is going to come around on the weekend so we can at least get the problem diagnosed before I have to (maybe) organise a tow. That is going to cost at least $300… before I then start paying to get it fixed.
Is that an aussie thing? Should be 2 plugs on there. 1 OBd2 and 1 nissan
Check fuel pump relay, check fuel cutoff fuse, can you hear fuel pump priming with ignition on?
Take the negative lead off the battery and leave it a few mins and see if it starts after an ecu dump. It probably won’t but you never know.
Take the priming bolt out the fuel filter as well and crank it, see if fuel spurts out
Definitely just the one, at the bottom of the fuse box.
