I dunno, sounds an awful lot like something worry-warts demanded be put into the plane after having a few invigorating experiences in aviation.
Yep…or it could be like the “FAST ERECT” button that I see on some of the planes I’ve flown. Ostensibly to spin up the ADI faster…but I’m 100% certain it is a button that is not wired to anything.
It looks awesome! The only thing that jumps out at me that seems off is the vortices coming off the canards. They seem to be visible in most external screenshots I have seen so far.
Counting the days…
Yeah, SPAK mode is your friend.
Viggen fun fact. The red round button on the stick is called ‘SNURK’ for ‘SNABB URKOPPLING’ which means ‘fast disconnect’ of the autopilot
This thread becomes funnier as the time comes closer to release. For all that have prerelease versions, I have made a Voodoo Doll of you that I torture with fire and toothpicks. Seriously,
I want to thank You EinsteinEP for all the cool stuff you have been putting out on weapon employment and Viggen goodness. Very appreciated by this community.
I am beginning to think I may have made a mistake buying this module… I feel it may be more involved than learning the A-10C!!!
Program QFE into the attack WP… Are you serious!!! I still don’t know how to get the QFE for the target area. All kidding aside I cant wait to get my mittens on it, especially with VR.
Today I bought tickets. I will be in Sweden in March. Now that my Son Merlin is old enough, he can go with me to Linkoping to see the Viggen in the museum.
“On distances greater than 40 kilometers, it rescales to indicating Swedish miles - one Swedish mile is 10 kilometers…”
1 Mil=10 kilometer=10.000 meter
1 meter=10 decimeter= 100 centimeter= 1000 milimeter
Yes, there will be a test on friday.
My guess is that there is confusion between an American/UK mile and a Swedish mile. Or is mil being misread as mile?
Can we just call them börks instead?
Ok, it’s too early in the morning for my brain to be hurting like this.
Hail yeah that looks hot!
I don’t think your bomb is supposed to be in the runway
The canards having vapor trails in many conditions is actually a thing the Viggen is famous for!
I remember one comment from a dude that was excited to see that modelled by LN.
You could say he…used the “fast erect” there.
@Aginor, while I am sure the Canard is more prone to generating the vapor trails, I still think it is a little over-done here (although it is still a Beta and it is a small point). Just google Saab Viggen and look at the images tab. I think I found two photos where there were canard tip trails. The vast majority of the photos do not show them.
They shouldn’t be a constant, that’s for certain.
Although the canards main function is to produce vortices for the main wing, like a huge vortex generator, the visible vorticies are perhaps not as prominent as we see in the videos. They’re definitely there, but the vortex core is not condensing all the time, in reality.
