Yeah, I have reported it.
@ 7:09 - my reaction to all of my landings…
I think the SPAK system is indeed the root of the rudder issues. I just tested it using the external view. With SPAK on, the rudder does not behave smoothly and it doesn’t recenter properly when you take your feet off the pedals. With SPAK off, everything returns to normal. Nice find Troll!
Here is my diary of a dumbass.
I had a 3 day weekend so I was happy. Turns out release day is on my last day off but ok… I then waited all day for the Viggen wearing out the refresh button. I figured out I needed Beta from Mudspike (thanks buddies). I then installed Beta but still No Viggen.
At this point I did what everyone here was telling me to do. I installed Skatezilla’s cool program. (THANKS Skate!) By now its late and Damn!!! This update will take a while…
Went to bed letting the update run. Of all days, I woke up late for work. I then looked at the PC and realized it was ready for the Viggen Serial number. Cried all the way to work.
Its a new day, a new dawn, a new Viggenning I get a shot at the beast tonight…
I want to thank you all again. I should have take the advice in the beginning.
That film was AWESOME! and a great motivator.
Thanks!
At least my girlfriend will get a couple of nights off.
Thanks Troll
Not me, I don’t care about the Viggen… Nope, not me!
Still Viggen-less but hopeful. Oh, the T? Amazon 18 bucks.
She’s probably saying…“whew…thank goodness he has that new game…now I can sit and read some vampire books in peace!”
@Maico that Viggen wear the “15” insignia from the airbase where I served. It crashed in 1978 during airshow practice. The pilot suffered a gallstone attack during a low level roll…
That is Bizzare!!! That’s the reason fifty years olds like me cant get flying insurance. Did the pilot survive? I cant imagine an ejection in the middle of a gallstone attack. OUCH!
No.
Sweden pays a price for freedom. Its brave people like him why Sweden was never invaded. May he rest in piece.
Yeah, the cold war death toll was significant, even in neutral countries like Sweden.
There’s a story that will hit the press this week, in Norway. I happen to be a member of a Norwegian aviation interest group on facebook. Last year, a guy posted a pic of a SwAF pilot helmet that he found during his childhood in the -70ies. It had washed ashore on a beach on the southern cost of Norway. He didn’t think about it at the time, but as he grew up, he understood that the helmet must have a grim history to tell. He found the helmet stashed away at his parents home and sought help on facebook. It took just a couple of minutes to find out where the helmet must have come from.
An AJ 37 from F7 Wing crashed in the sea outside the Swedish west coast. The cause was a high speed birdstrike during a simulated Rb04 attack. The pilot ejected, but the speed was too high and altitude too low. He was found floating in his inflated lifevest. His helmet was never recovered, and was believed to have come off during the ejection.
Today we know that the helmet washed ashore and became somebodys toy. It has now been sent to the squadron of the deceased pilot.
I find that that has some weird macabre poetic beauty to it. Tools of destruction becoming unwilling objects of joy for a child that knows no better.
@klarsnow remember how I remarked on the bonking sound of the compressor stall of the RM8A? Well today I remembered a conversation at work we’ve had about the time they still serviced JT-8D engines, and ony of my colleagues mentioned that those engines used to have those sounds all the time during test runs
Not sure what that tells you about the design/engine
am i the only one who suffers frame drop when using the M/71 bomb ?
I’m experiencing significant frame drops across 1.5.6. I’m chalking it up to “Open Beta” and am looking forward to a hotfix.
