The scene in the elevator was done in reshoots after principal photography when it was decided the relationship as filmed was too thin. So imagine the film without that scene and that was the original extent of their chemistry.

The fact that it was filmed many months later meant both actors had different hair. So they put her in a goofy cap to cover hers and slicked his back so you couldn’t tell.

Airplane!, Naked Gun, Kentucky Fried Movie, Top Secret, Amazon Women on the Moon, the Mel Brooks films…all were brilliant. By the time of Naked Gun 3(3 1/3), aptly subtitled Beating a Dead Horse, it was over. The last standouts were the early Scary Movie films and Not Another Teen Movie.

Still, I think Final Countdown gets too little attention compared to Top Gun. It came out first, and Kirk Douglas and Martin Sheen were great. Also footage of an RA-5 which Top Gun failed to have, not to mention some A6M2s!

The A6M’s were T-6’s dressed up as Zero’s.

I dunno, comparing Hot Shots with the Scary Movie franchise seems odd. It’s not on par with Mel Brooks’ better stuff, but come on, it is not that bad.

Yesterday my father was cleaning out some of my grandfather’s stuff and found this drawing:

I was a little bit surprised that I couldn’t find it online as I’m pretty sure it was a mass produced piece.
