Lets be honest, they look absolutely spectacular in formation as well
IMHO interesting video on an attack helicopter (Light) designed specifically for high mountain flying.
I can probably find this on youtube with a little effort and will repost when I do. If you don’t have reddit, the video is of a bell AS350 servicing a lighthouse in France. I am unsure what happened but the pilot had an issue with the cable or load and lost control just a few dozen feet off the rocks. The recovery is too incredible to be real. But it is real.
good move there!
after quick read in that reddit post I confirmed my observation that it was AS350.
and also someone mentioned that the smoke was from the engine as he overtorqued it what match also my observation.
definitely lifes are more important in such situations than machines.
Thanks for correcting. Also cool that he/she popped the floats within a second or two. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pilot get his s*** together so quickly. There was one injury to a worker on the ground.
Any idea what caused the maneuver?
Cable stuck/failed to release. It was basically an airborne dynamic rollover.
first i thought the orange from the floats, was a fire… but some damn good piloting there
LMAO! We need more of this…
Indian Air Force Helicopters
Can you imagine italian helicopters using spaghetti as ghillie suits?
LOL! Oh man, that Italian heli looks delicious … and it’s firing rocket propelled meatballs!
Tell me more…
FSM incoming.
Lead needs to relax!
Lead looks like I do in any helicopter in a flight sim.
“Hey Fridge! You take lead for the take off. … Man I am glad that guy is in front of me! Look at how jittery he is! Pretty sure he’d run into us if he was in back. What do you mean my mic…”
I mean. They are also flying a real helicopter and I’m flying this here keyboard.
