That done, perhaps a DCS repair.
In my case I had an old version of the FSR mod dll file that was causing instability.

My DCS folder was set to read only. Is that normal?
In fact, all folders I looked at on my PC had the read only box ticked…
This can’t be right? What can have caused this?
You had me wondering the same for a minute. I see the same. Why did I never notice before?
Luckily, I realized the answer before the panic attack picked up steam. I made a new folder so I could safely click that box a few times and this is what I think:
- tick mark means “all things in here are read-only”
- empty means “none of them are read-only”
- block represents all other cases: “some are”

I searched around for this a while ago, and it’s apparantly caused by a Windows 10 update. I never really got it fixed, but everything works anyway, so…

I’m not so sure my PC does…
I’ve been having trouble with the SimShaker for Aviators app too. If I allow it to start with windows and then start DCS, I get an error that it can’t find the path to certain files. If I instead start it manually, and then start DCS, there are no errors.
It seems that there’s a similar thing going on with SteamVR. If I allow it to start automatically when DCS starts, I get into problems with SteamVR crashes and associated headset blackouts. If I start SteamVR manually, before starting DCS, it seems to work.
WTH is going on…?!?

Well I went ahead and Bought a G2, it was used but the price was so good I could not pass it by. I am hoping with the PCIe USB thing I have it works better then the other 2 I had…
This Rift S has pretty bad Sscreen door effect and since I did see the G2 in action I just wanted to get another even since they have a new Cable I am trying to aquire.
I read some guys got a new cable even tho the G2 was 2nd hand and not brand new, so I am going to try and call and seee if I can get one too. if not once they are back in stock I will purchase one but as of today they are still out of stock…
The G2 should be coming tomorrow I can not wait to get it first all to check and make sure it is good to go Lens wise and then plug it in and hope for the best…
Since I am getting real good results with my Overclcocks and DCS I just had to get a G2 again…

Hi everyone, I just got a G2 on Amazon Warehouse (basically it is new).
At the moment it is working correctly on my AMD system ( I am using my usb-c connector on the graphics card).
But I would like to get the new cable anyway, but on the HP support website it asks for the serial number. Is there somewhere I can locate it?Thanks

Inside the Set on the side. You can take a picture of it with your phone and send it to them like I did.
Thanks so much, I found it. Had some issues in distinguish 0 from O. But then I managed.
I contacted them via phone, and in a matter of minutes I got the practice open for the new cable, which is not available, so I’ll have to wait.

I put my order in for a new cable 3 weeks ago. I had the serial number wrong and have been fighting for2 weeks to get it updated and a new PO created to get a new cable.
Support says it is good to go and Customer Self Repair Support says the PO is still not right and won’t process the shipment.
I had received the G2 in todays Delivery and after a few teething issues It came to life. I fired up DCS and ran a MP mission with that. I had 2 CTD in DCS so I ended up taking down my OC on the GPU a tad. it ran fine for 2 hours so I should be good…
When, I first installed it I was getting the dreaded USB not recognised symbol in WMR, I thought great it was DOA. but turned out I did not have the Cable seated properly in the headset I gave it a little nudge and it then cam to life averted a disaster…
I then used my PCIe USB Adapter and it has been rock solid for a few hours just doing desktop tasks and tweaking DCS, which by the way is pretty low on settings, I even had to turn down the res a bit from the native setting…
It is running pretty good and I am wondering if I should keep my Rift S for a little longer until I get a new cable or should it just be fine for now as it does have the older cable and power pack thingie… I was going to just order a new cable but they are out of stock so I will have to keep checking until they come back in stock not sure how long that will take but hopefully they will get some in soon…
So DCS looks great again and glad I pulled the trigger on this used G2… Hopefully I will not have any 7-14 errors…
