Thanks Wheels, but the screens practically take themselves. I would definitely consider the P-38 my favorite warbird, but I’m really gonna make an effort to fly the P-51 after the weekend.

Isn’t this the cover of Aces over Europe?!
EDIT: YEAH!I was right!
That’s awesome! Although, I was more into “Aces of the Pacific”, and I could spot that box art from a mile away. I’ve never had to spot box art from a mile away, but if I did, I would like to think that I could…
@wheelsup_cavu. Thank you very much sir! As @Brennus has said, it’s really the game itself which is the artist. I just happen to be a fan in the bleachers cheering on the team.
Tried to make a gif with the screenshots but I don’t have Gimp or Photoshop and Irfanview only makes screensaver (.scr) type files. I had thought you could do it with Windows Photo Viewer or Windows Media Player but those didn’t work, or more probably I couldn’t find the correct way to do it, either…
Another group session on Sunday.
The plane low and all shot to heck was me. I got out of the target area only to roll it into the ground about 5 minutes later. Was too low to bail out too…

Do you play IL-2 BOX series via steam or stand-alone?
Wheels, are you meeting up on the Mudspike discord server and what time?
As far as I know we have individuals using both the Steam and stand-alone versions.
We have our own TeamSpeak channel.
We fly as a group twice a week on Friday (5 to 8 PST) and Sunday (4 to 7 PST) and once every two weeks on Sunday’s with the BlackBirds on or own Great Battles DServer.

Some people have had trouble accessing the 352ndVFG website recently so here is an Internet Archive version of the Home Page from July of this year, 2019.

Both squadrons welcome guest pilots so if you like to regularly fly fighters check out the 352nd, if bombers do it for you give the BB’s a whirl.

Was playing around with the Tanks this weekend.
I lasted a full 60 minutes without getting killed. I wasn’t the only one on the server and there were enemy, Player flown, planes trying to take me out. Only advice, Trees are your friends and don’t stay stationary.

To be fair the motion blur makes it look like you’re racing at 100MPH!
I agree it looks like I am flying low. They are all in game screenshots. I didn’t do anything to them.
No clue how I got the motion blur effect since I wasn’t noticing it while I was driving from the outside view and taking the screenshots?

The devs mistakenly installed a Honeywell AGT1500.
Does anyone think as I do, that the Mustang is a stone cold killer? I haven’t flown the Jug in a few months, but I almost feel like the Pony hits harder. Perhaps it’s the new joystick base.
And BoX is really looking amazing these days. I just love the detail in the dirt roads, especially around fields and woods.
Trees are an area where DCS could learn a little from this game.
I think the engine is so good and very scalable. I mean I can run it at 60fps with my aged PC and it looks great with trees that don’t pop up in the distance like in DCS. I’m not bashing DCS just because I can’t play it (tries to keep the tears back) but it’s basically the same terrain and the same amount of objects on maps etc and I can run iL2 perfectly. Even DCS 1.5 stutters for me.
iL2 has a great engine. With oil and water radiators open full, engine RPM and throttle at 70% and fuel mixture set to rich
Is there a date set for Bodenplatte release? Also, what can you currently do/fly in the early access?
@Mace
The P-38, P-51, and Tempest which are Battle of Bodenplatte content have been released. They also released a winter map named Rheinland.
