I donāt fly much anymore. And my old squad has disbanded and moved on. But we still chat and joke about current events and old times. A favorite quote from the IL2 forum that we use for nearly any subject that holds potential for disagreement is, āWere you there!?ā It just might replace āTwo Weeksā in sim quote folklore.

I noticed this myself a couple of weeks back and also felt it a silly move on the AIās part. Glad they are aware and working it.
@B12ās thread immediately above was āhiddenā. This might mean he wants it deleted and so I donāt wish to quote him against his wishes. But I agree almost completely. Having said that, I like Jason. @B12 probably does too. What Jason did to turn RoF around was alone worth a Lifetime Sim Achievement Award (what? youāve never heard of the āElsaāsā?). The purchase of IL2 was a risky leap and he and the Russians pulled it off. Douchy people abound on that forum. But intermixed with the haters are the lovers. And Jason is either incapable of telling them apart or he sees them as two sides of the exact same coin. Hereās what I have learned in my far-too-long ācareerā in this hobby starting with FalconAT and MiG-29: The dedicated sim types want to feel like they are part of the team. The often make the mistake in believing that they are more āinvestedā than they really are. They also often make a similar mistake of thinking they are more informed than they really are. But those two traits come with the typical passionate combat sim customer. And for every one who takes it way too far and only succeeds in being a domineering asshat, there are five who really do have something meaningful to add to the experience for everyone else.
Responding below. I agree that the words we choose is important and that no individual who hasnāt harmed a child or dumped toxic waste into a river deserves a personal attack, whether a member of this forum or not. I might suggest that this is the perfect time to put āā¦Updates 2021ā to bed and start with a fresh year.

Iāll be the bad guy, of course. We think @b12ās post can be reworded and weāre giving him the chance to do that. It reads, even if not intended to be so, as a direct and personal attack on Jasonās character (a member here btw). Itās fine to say pretty much anything about a company or even a role, and itās not hard to de-personify it to make the same points. There is a difference, however daft/petty it might sound.
