I watched a couple of YT videos today and I am very impressed. Its not just IL2 with Korean war Map and planes… Its a total rewrite… Very Impressed.

Do we know what kind of campaign this will have? Dynamic/career or scripted?
if it will be like il2 great battles series it will have both (scripted AND carreer/dynamic).
and from features description in their store page, it looks like exactly as il2 GB series.
Ok, IL2 sales team, you suck at this… Had they said that Carriers and Carrier aircraft were going to be a thing, they would have had my money on day one. As per video, the “Mystery DLC” will feature Carriers. Aircraft like the F9F Panther, the F4U Corsair, F2H Banshee and F7F Tiger Cat flew from Carriers during Korea and Could be part of that DLC. Maybe.. Of course, anything can happen at this point.. But I have faith that this will be worth the money.
Could the AD-1 be later on? Some Reds are notable. Look forward to the Yak-9P and La-11. USAF P-82 maybe… A-26 Invader? Korea opens a whole new world and some of these aircraft served in Vietnam… But I digress.
Yes, I am aware that they are a Russian development house. However, I did not hessitate to spend money on IL2 and I will support my hobby. Price? For the price of 2 DCS Modules, I got the Founders Edition. I have always talked about the the Price to Entertainment Value. I think if all goes well, I will be getting plenty of value out of something that cost a good dinner in Seattle. That is with 2 drinks. Tip not included. YMMV.
This weekend I took the time to get IL2 working good with the Quest3. I even had a couple of online scraps. Very Fun. The I-153 is a damn nice Model. I was really having a blast and so I watched a couple of IL2 Korea Videos and well, I preordered. All due to the video below. Carrier Warfare!
They showed a very detailed USN pilot model, last year. And how can you make a Korean War Combat flightsim without carrier ops? ![]()
I have to admit that I had to do some serious thinking as to whether or not I would support this sim, but in the end I pulled the trigger on the founder’s edition. I can’t lay blame for the Ukraine War on normal Russian people.
I am looking forward to playing it later this year and I am hopeful that we will see some interesting aircraft. I would really like to see a later mark Seafire, Firefly and Sea Fury. Probably just wishful thinking though.
A British aircraft DLC would be awesome.
I don’t think so… They have a history of producing DLC aircraft fro both RoF, Flying Circus and Great Battles. If not the British, then who..?
An honest question: what’s the difference between this and a DCS product?
Both are developed by Russians, correct?
Depends on what you mean by DCS product. Anything developed by Eagle Dynamics can be developed by russians, but also from other countries. The company is legally situated in Switzerland and is owned by The Fighter Collection Ltd. Other DCS products that are developed by third party developers will differ.
For me it’s the brazen support for the Russian invasion the devs of IL-2 Korea displayed shamelessly only to retract after a massive backlash.
Plus proofs that they are developing a Drone sim to help train russian infantry.
But … you know… potato tomato
If you want a simulator more cleaned of russians, so, uninstall dcs. and maybe go to falcon bms.
One of original founders of dcs was russian, for years and dcs world original development was in moscow, they only changed to swiss because more easy relations with the rest of the world, BUT even today, you want to know where are the core of developers team? Serbia, the biggest russia allied in europe….
Sadly if someone start to politize too much these things its only to discover non beautiful things and soon or later ends to not consume nothing.
That kind of dirty relations remembers me that even nowadays europe still indirectly buy fuel/gas from russia and usa buy nuclear power station fuel from russia, all these is much more helping the war than a flight sim in an entertainment.
Talking about “funny” relations, you know that even Poland, until few years ago, have great relations with north korea, they send to them many european products and north korea as part of payment agreement send north korea slavors to work of poland mines, ….. pretty beautiful no? (ofc sarcasm)
and now what? probably many people are against usa intervention on iran, so? you will stop buying american products? uninstall ms windows? even microsoft recently was accused to work with israel on AI tech for indirectly use in army. So maybe is better to uninstall windows and forget any flight sim except xplane that is the one that can run on linux…..
So what i want to say is that we should not be so religious in these relations of that every thing that a russian people are involving is helping the war.
Believe me that the same way many usa citizens are against trump, many russian citizens are against putin.
Nick Grey started ED together with Igor Tishin. When Tishin died, Grey moved the company to Switzerland, where he lives. But ED has employees in several countries.
asking copilot, chatgpt not exist any public proof of il2 devs doing any relation with military russian simulators, infact the only relation of this kind we know is ED many years ago had contracts with their ka50 with russian army.
The A-10C module was born out of a desktop sim trainer for the US Air National Guard too.
exactly, i only gave the example above because the worries/fears of contracts with ru army.
Dont support your hobby and the hobby dies. Did the devs support the War in Ukrane? Probably yes, cos they are Russian… makes sense to me. And I am sure they have a whole different point of view on the war in Iran. Point is, dont expect that a Russin will have a Western point of view. They are Russian Flight Sim developers. Some of the best in the world. They have brought us YEARS of enjoyment. Lets hope they bring us another decade of fun.
I hate politics. But i know this, punishing 1C for being Russian and loving their country is as senseless as blaming the war on Ukraine on the common Russian people. Just imagine me going into a Bangkok restaurant and they refuse to serve me because I am American. Because I started the War in Iran and now they don’t have gas. That is unfair, right?
So getting back to 1C, as my friend once said, Stop thinking with your head and try to think with their head instead. In other words, what is their POV. I don’t have to agree with it… I Just need to know what it is. You dont have to support 1C, but I sure will. Great Products.
And just to be Clear, I want Ukraine to WIN.
Thanks folks. So, it comes down to our perception of both companies.
Yeah pretty much.
