MAD AAR - pics, tales of adventure and lessons learned!

I remember bombing those triangles!

6 Big bombs, 10 little bombs, 8 AAMs and 23k lbs of gas. The F-15E was an amazing machine back then.

If I could make a living flying helicopters around Manhattan, that’s what I’d do. Fly the Pitts for fun. Maybe do a little glider instruction. Home every night. Yep, I’d be up for that.

Wow…200K - how much does the C-47 cost new. Because I was looking on the used market at a Kodiak for 500K or something, but it was 50% or so…so I’d be curious how much it would cost to repair it once purchased. Sometimes a bargain isn’t a bargain…

I’ve got the 172 Bush again out of 25U back up to Pullman. Wow…that takeoff over the cliff is breathtaking! Turbulence kicking my butt too…

Even more fun when ur butt is really getting hammered! (I’m assuming you don’t have this feature). It really gets your attention. Take the lever on my office chair (to raise/lower it); if I don’t ā€˜suppress’ (piece of foam) it will rattle like crazy in over-G or high turbulence situations. Catches me by surprise sometimes. Think it makes me smoother on the controls too (G-effects when yanking on the stick/yoke). No proof of this though

A slot for the quarters on this ride is handy.

Alrighty…172 Bush is back in Pullman…

Shake and bake! It’s not too bad unless you are trying to get a type rating.

So I’m in Pullman with a VA airplane, but I need to get back to my own company base where my Husky is (Pangborn) and I’ve gone through the list of items available at Pullman and found that Livestock is $14 more in Moses Lake (it’s on the way) - so 500 x $14 = $7000…seems like a good haul. But…I can’t see HOW to buy the items? I’m lost in a sea of menus…!

Oh my…I’m embarrassed to admit I did not even know those left hand tabs were there! AND…I was doing a base by base search using the upper tabs which was dreadfully inefficient! Thank you for showing me a faster way!

Ah…using your technique of just scrolling through and looking at the map - I can see that Fine China is even more profitable at +19… Now, whether it can survive the turbulence is another matter!

Do you know if those commodity prices are dynamic…do they change according to supply and demand?

Ah…actually China is NOT more profitable because it is only more differential in dollars, but not percentage of the total cost of the commodity. @Bearhedge would be proud.

Haha…now I’m debating the ethics of borrowing 10K from the VA to allow me to completely fill my 500 pound capacity and then repaying the VA when I offload the cargo  Of course, it will be flown IN a VA aircraft by a VA pilot (me)…so I think management (me) should be OK with it. And I will pay the cost of the aircraft rental and fuel and mx reserve…(which I have yet to figure out on the 172 Bush)…

Jeepers - hauling 464lbs of clothing (disguised as cement) to KBLI. I think I can, I think I can (get over the moutains West of KEAT)!

c172-Bush

Now, if only there was a way to take all our individual risky airplane loans and lump them together into bigger lumps of debt, then give that tranche a generic risk grade and sell that debt on, offloading the risk…what could possibly go wrong!

Ah poop. I’m running into a roadblock. Situation is this:

Me (BeachAV8) owner of MAC - base is KEAT
I’m currently in KPUW - a VA base that is under construction.
I transferred 50K to my personal account to buy 500 pounds of Livestock

When I go to buy the stuff, the Deliver To box does not populate and it says 0 free space…do I need storage room somewhere?

I have a plan for those sheep…
