I have AH2 called up and I see a VA Job in there Added By: Tigerwulf. So whatever you did worked. I just added one to.
So now that I flew the aircraft to S36 - someone has to find a job to bring it back…or go wherever with it. I gotta go for a walk with my wife, and if nobody wants to get it back to KEAT, I’ll be happy to fly it back.
I just transferred a jot to the VA: S36 back to KEAT with 352 lbs. of Furniture…if anyone wants that one it is a good return flight. Watch out for those mountains…
I can’t see where to buy insurance on the VA aircraft…? Anyone see it?
But, as I understand it. They (their character) has to be at S36; is there a way to ‘jump seat’ to a field?
Nope. All I see it the XP11 Skyhawk. Top menu options: Buy/Sel/Book In/out/ Override. Nothing else.
Was it transferred to the VA? If so perhaps the owner has to pay for the insurance. Hmmm.
I think the planes remain in the airfield they were last but you can pick up jobs and designate any aircraft you have and jump into that aircraft’s location.
I have a personal plane in KEAT and have no bases there (I designated KEAT as the delivery location of the plane when I bought it, personal not VA) and I had flown a job for my company in England and then found a job for my aircraft in KEAT, selected fly now, chose the personal plane in KEAT and I was there.
Yeah I have added to the VA, I did that before, I just presumed that the VA base would have jobs generated like the company does? So the VA jobs are just selected by members of the VA and not the game generating jobs for thr VA like it does for the company.
I think I will buy another company base at Bowers field, close to KEAT, once I have enough money in my company and that will generate loads of jobs in that area which I can then designate to the VA.
Na I didn’t have the previous one. I jist presumed the VA list would populate like the company one does once there is a fleet at the base.
That was my assumption too. So far I’m only seeing ones exported by other VA members.
I think I may be out for the long term. I’ve burned through about $10,000 trying to do DC-3 checkrides but AH2 doesn’t see X-P. (Worked before so not sure what’s changed). To test I booked out “our” 172 at wherever that strip near Seattle is. No luck. I tried several times so sorry if anyone else needed it.
I feel like you would have had purchased either a handheld or a tablet with a little bit of that $100k startup capital you raised.
Try making a new test company (so the $ doesn’t matter) and set the Networked Mode on, see if that works.
I still can’t get flights started unless I tick Networked Mode in the options.
With networked mode, AH2 tells you when you can manually fire up XP. You set up your flight in the right place with the right plane and go back to AH to click OK, then if it works you’ll get the in-game messages popping up and the traffic light in AH turns green.
Worth a try, anyway.
I can (or rather “could”) only use Networked mode as there is no way to start X-Plane with air hauler. There’s another thread where I’ve been moaning about X-Plane and/or hardware issues. I think my rig is toast–at least for X-Plane. All other sims are fine.
That’s odd that it doesn’t populate it’s own jobs like the personal companies, but never mind. There is no way I am flying scheduled passenger flights haha!
I assume this is fairly easy to do, but I did think that coming up with a simple template guide for “your first AI pilot” might be a good thing.
It would be nice to have all our personal companies locked and loaded with an AI pilot to keep the monthly expenses at bay while we do the virtual airline stuff.
It’s not an urgent thing - I think after selling the default plane and buying the Cub I have at least 10 months of cash for fixed costs - but would be nice to know we can take breaks and not worry about it.
The flight has to be flown each week, but not specifically at that time. AH will set the flight to the route time, and when complete track it. But the funds only get processed when that time actually passes. It’ll be marked as done though. From what I understand. If you don’t fly the route that week (anyone in the VA) you take a rep.hit just like your personal company would.
That’s my understanding of how it works anyway.
That’s for routes. For ad hoc passenger flights they’re just one offs, so the sim will be adjusted to the right date/time (or you have to if networked mode) and the money will be processed immediately. Just not sure you can do as hoc for VA.
I’m going to reposition the Bush 172 over to S50 since there is a job out of there.
REPO complete - now taking that load of chemicals to KEAT unless I get paged halfway there
Interesting flying green needles again, taking up a 45 degree heading to intercept the 072 radial off Seattle (V120). 11,400’ MOCA and 12,000’ MEA…!
I can’t recall - in real life, the last time I used dual VORs to get cross radials to determine exact position.
Of course, I also have DME, but is actually easier on Skyvector to plot your position using cross radials than DME (I feel)…
