From what I read the distribution of the beta build will be handled by Xbox Insider Hub app. You can get it through Microsoft Store.
From what I have read, nobody has received a follow up to the Tech Alpha 1 invites yet. I did install the X-box Insider Hub a few minutes ago, but I see nothing there (except the Minecraft for Windows 10 Beta)
What nobody knows is that the Tech Alpha 1 beta is to test and work through problems with the release and it has nothing to do with RAM. We’ll get it when the Alpha 2 people do
Contrast is phenomenal…
It’s cool to see Courchevel will be more or less correct, with it’s huge sloping runway. Lukla will probably have the same treatment, as sloping runways are supported.
Oh man if the ATC and flight/systems modeling is at least FSX quality I might really fly the hell out of that one.
Anyone who is in the alpha test: blink twice if it is cool, once if it is not so good.
The last screenshot looks like my ortho in XPlane = little washed out. I guess the same source.
Hope their AI for populating the world with buildings, trees and grass will be enough good to compensate for the lower quality of some orthos.
They said their AI can do color correction and cloud removal from photo images used for the scenery.
I’m only waiting for the reveal how they want to implement seasons.
Simple texture change will not cut it (like in FSX).
Sounds good. This is very much needed with some locations. We will see how well it will be implemented. Hope they will not rush it.
The picture above with the ICON A5 is above Gothenburg, Sweden. My home town.
Looks fairly realistic I have to say except the big bridge is missing and a church along the coast looks weird. I’m also in the TechAlpha 1, waiting for a build to be released. Exciting times ahead for sure!
I hadn’t noticed, but yeah! That’s Asperö out there in the archipelago. Spent a couple of summer vacations there…
What I really want to do now that VFR navigation is guaranteed is to travel up the coast, follow landmarks and discover the whole of Sweden from above. (then the rest of the globe of course) I have really high hopes for this sim, hope it lives up to it!
Then you would only need a huge flyable Goose amd it would be perfect!
That would be very cool. That together with some missions. Hope they keep that part from FSX.
Alternative name for this trailer, ‘X-Plane and P3D, pack your ■■■■ up…’
it certainly looks amazing (I make no claims about anything else, so no one jump down my throat please )
Stock 748, Citation and A320 NEO look fun. Scenery and weather impressive in this one as well, let’s hope they don’t have the Epstein security guys watching the Orbx offices.
On a related matter, and maybe posted here already (behind on everything here) but PMDG announced that they will condescend to let even peasants purchase their upcoming 737 NG3 for MSFS 2020 for just $139.99, provided they act contrite and apologetic enough.
Expect to see spreadsheets explaining how hours played divided by the $89 million a real plane costs used to make that seem ok.
Wowzers!
I have to say…this is exciting footage…and of course MS is a big company, so if they choose to put resource in this, if someone can pull this off, they can.
At the same time - my stance will be “I believe it when people smarter than me have put hours and hours of time into it and rave about it”. Right now, DCS and X-Plane are the staples for me and I’m going to keep my anticipation of MSFS in check for the time being. So far all we have is some pretty videos. Admittedly, the article by the old guard dude did give the anticipation needle a nudge, though.
Don’t get me wrong, this looks amazing and if done right, looks like the next real milestone for flight sims. I guess I’m just cynical until proven otherwise.
