Great!
Thank You Aginor. It is downloaded. Now we will see when I get the time to install and play around with it.

Happy Simming
Doing my Challenging Airports article this week and it is so nice that the default scenery is so great. I did build some orthos for X-Plane that look pretty good too of course.
Nice!
Always surprised by how fun some routine flights can be. Doing some demonstrations up at Cochabamba, Bolivia (field elevation 8,360ā!) and trying to escape the Altiplano bowl that the airport sits in. Managed to stagger over the close-in terrain on a single-engine, but when climbing to get over the higher peaks to the āsofterā edge of the area to the southeast I got into icing and had to turn aroundā¦
I just imported my first blender model into MSFS2020.
It was a struggle since the tutorials didnāt really fit. But I figured it out. So this is the proof of concept and now I am trying to expand my scenery with custom objects, some of which are in the works already.
However I still massively suck at texturing. But I am learning.
Nice paintjob! (I flew on that plane. )
Since when I got the VR I spent all my flight simming time with the HMD on my face . And I loved it in P3D as the HP Reverb G1 performed very well and the picture was pretty clear.
Then came the new King (MSFS) which brought its own native VR implementation. I love it tooā¦ however always had an impression that the visuals were not so clear as I had been experiencing in P3D.
So today I checked the picture clarity between the two with the following test:
AAAAAANDā¦
The picture was clearer in P3D - meaning I was able to read smaller text in P3D whereas it was quite blurred in MSFS.
I know there are other variables at play (e.g. rendering engines are different, lighting is different, perhaps textures may have different contrast and sharpnessā¦) though I think it is an interesting observation.
Could be anti aliasing. Try switching from TAA to an alternative method.
Good point. I will check it this evening.
Also in OpenXR turn off reprojection if you havenāt already, as that might impact clarity on that side.
Antialiasing was it. When I switched it off completely, the picture clarity was comparable.
However, along with it comes shimmering of course so there is a choice to be made.
I tried also disabling the reprojection in OpenXR but I am not sure about its effect on picture clarity.
Thanks for the tips in any case!
Itās on my todo list to check TAA with different levels of image sharpening. I imagine it could look weird, though.
Enjoyed reading about this bug - great detective work here
That is incredible. I want my free-dumbā¦lets get rid of Mode C and Mode S altogether. Dogs and cats living together. Mayhem.
Seriouslyā¦great detective work. Now if he could just find the object in the Drzerwhiskytangfoxtrot Seattle area that kills my X-Plane FPS. Iām sure it is in that packageā¦I just donāt know what it is.
Not sure if it has been posted, but a 30min long essay about some pretty interesting experiences on MS Flight Simulator.
Definitely an original point of view.
I donāt have much flying time in FS2020, but yesterday finally setup my Virpil Stick and Throttle for use with it.
Today I had my dad and wife visit, we took off from three airports known to us (Ramstein, Frankfurt, Langenlonsheim) and picked different planes and flew over known landmarks. It was roughly worth an hour of flying and it came across very well.
They were able to figure out the landscape from the street layout, discovered their house and in general they were impressed. Good times and I didnāt need to explain why stuff around me explodes and/or dies as in arma 3 or DCS
ā¦und die Sonne scheint.
Man, I watched the F1 GP over the weekend, I wanted to check out how itās represented. I fired up msfs20, type in Dijon and find an airport and start out from there.
Of course, I started at the wrong airport, but luckily there was a circuit there too. Dijon Prenois. I was really confused, as the airport was supposed to be next to the circuit. Lol
Google was my friend and realized the circuit was Paul Ricard and at a slightly different location. Lol
I relocate to the proper airport and sure enough, the track is right next to the airport. I flew out of there and close to the Mediterranean. Quite a nice view.
Yesterday, I fired up P3D. After waiting for literally 15.mins to load up, I selected the airport next to Paul Ricard. Oh man, that was a rude shock. I have the Orbx land class, etc. But still, wow. I pretty much have to Uninstall P3D at this point. It runs more sluggish and itās such a disappointing visual experience now. I do have a couple hundred into it, with Rex and orbx stuff, but I think Iām out.
Msfs2020 has its faults, but I think the positives make a more enjoyable flying experience.
Iām right there with youā¦. I fired up X-Plane for the first time in months the other day. Despite all the funds I invested in aircraft (and I have a few ) and scenery, the MSFS experience is just better IMHO. Load times are faster, picking an airport to fly from is much better using the MSFS globeā¦ throwing together a quick flight plan - easy as pie in MSFS. Then we have the base scenery which is great and with Open XR, the VR experience is better tooā¦
X-Plane does have a better aircraft selection screen though. The MSFS one is kind of a pain if you have a bunch of aircraft. It really needs to allow a āfavoritesā category.
At this point, I have a 1TB dedicated SSD for X-Plane that I am thinking about repurposing for MSFS addons. I donāt regret buying all those X-Plane aircraft. I had fun with them, but I guess I have just moved on.
