Things are about to get more interesting or confusing for simmers looking for hardware, or not. ![]()
Iâll be watching, intently. Mostly because, Iâm wondering if this will be something mid-range or even low end.
Because of the size of the base on the stick, some folk are speculating that it might offer FFB. I try to resist speculation but must admit it is rather large. ![]()
Definitely âeyes onâ regarding the entry point of this HOTAS set. MOZA is known for multiple levels of offerings, so who knows?
Yes its confirmed to be a force feedback base.

Good looking kit. I havenât tried the racing gear, but it gets generally good reviews. 9 NM servos in the stick base is impressive.
And here I was thinking Iâd never buy a stick base after my virpil cm3âŠ
That looks like itâs going to fun finding a mounting solution. ![]()
A self-admitted unboxing, teaser, sneak peek, of the WIP product with mounting and short hops in the DCS Hornet and Kiowa using the TM Hornet grip.
Theyâve already got you covered:
Looks like youâll need a thumb extender to use that stick!
OMFG OMFG OMFGâŠ
(Translation: I like it VERY VERY much)
While Iâm glad that both 1) we have a new entry in the above-budget level sim controller market and 2) there is an FFB base, I donât care for that one.
If you have some sort of sim pit, thatâs great. But as someone who uses their keyboard drawer on their desk part time for flying and then puts the stick/throttle away up on top of the hutch the rest of the time, that is both far too tall (so my right arm would need to rest like a foot higher than my left) and lacking in stabilization so that Iâd need to worry about it shaking itself off the pullout drawer.
My old Logi G940 stick base was so much lower and worked just fine. It was quiet enough, although it natually didnât have the power of this oneâŠbut it was enough to make my arm tired after flying a couple of hours!
Anyway, this looks like it uses the TM WH adapter and my Winwing stuff doesnât, so I canât put my Hornet or Viper grips on it anyway.
I instead hope this motivates WW to make one. They have the vibration motor in the grips, which iâve turned off, but I would love to be able to do with AH-64 what I once did with the Ka-50 when it came out with my G940âtrim and release and the stick sits there.
Yeah. The posted video showed that it will even work with other mounts and is compatible with my Warthog stick. Hopefully the same applies to the Winwing grips because Iâm transitioning to that line. It seems like MOZA did its homework.
Hoping the price falls within my budget
As sim fans we are starting to get spoiled for choice arenât we? ![]()
I have heard the quality of the wheel bases is good but they are a tad expensive? Price will be interesting, although Iâd be willing to bet that will they will try to undercut the FFB alternatives. Could be a winner?
Wow! Winwing announced their FFB stick at FSExpo called the Cyber Tarus J.Y.T.R. along with several additions to their product line. I guess more information will become available this weekend at the expo.
Looks like Iâll be in a holding pattern for a bit⊠![]()
I wonder if virpil are going to get in on the action as wellâŠ
I couldnât find much about Winwingâs, maybe itâs not close enough for them to talk about yet.
All that other stuff is fine for civil aviation buffs but immaterial to me.
Not much has been said about it and the one on display at FSExpo looked like a mockup. Naturally, it was labeled âdo not touch.â
I hope itâs at least a good bit smaller than Mozaâs.
Allegedly FAR Part 60 force levels according to WinWing⊠although that probably doesnât mean totally compliant in practise - for the Hornet theyâd need a centre breakout force of 1.3kg and then another 1.3kg per centimetre of travel out to the maximum travel which I heard makes a total of 18kg at max deflection.
But even at 9kg (which I think is what Moza is claiming), theyâre going to be the size they displayed or larger, I think?
Edit: all of a sudden I see why they reversed the thread on the base of the stick grip compared to TM!
