I’m thinking that the Great Continental Divide Ride, say something like El Paso to Calgary, would be a pretty amazing route. I was invited one year to do it on a dirt bike with a group of friends, but Claudia had two in the oven, so had to pass.
Ohhhhh I like that idea! Same could be done with the Pacific Crest Trail. Love it.
Side note, are you on ADVRider @chipwich ?
In recovery LOL. We had kids so the KTM 1190 ADV went on the blocks. Miss it. Been looking at the Yami T7 lately. Probably couldn’t sneak it in the garage without raising a hub bub sadly. You?
Ha, I am not. But I used to work for the founder Baldy for years at his company SmugMug. He is pretty much my second father. Haha
I just looked and my last post was 2016, so not that long ago. ADVrider is certainly an amazing site. I have friends who read it and have never owned motorcycles. Some magnificent stories there. Fav was the entire Lewis and Clark route. Probably took me a month to read it. Some of the longest running threads in Internet history, I would venture.
Just picked up the Central Idaho Bush Trip and looking forward to it.
Oh yeah, I used to read the stories on ADVRider, but didn’t have much to contribute. And I bet you are right about some of the biggest, longest threads in internet history.
Stoked you got the bush trip! Can’t wait to hear your feedback.
Cheers,
Michael
How about some regions that were traditionally not covered well so far in any of the civil sims?
What comes up my mind for instance is Nepal (+maybe the greater region around Nepal).
I mean everyone was to Lukla at some point but what about the other places like Lamidada, Kangel or Manamaya? And they look great in MSFS 2020!
Thanks Apollo! I already had that region on my list, but didn’t know any of the specific airports, so that list helps. I still have yet to fly for even a minute there. It has been crazy how long this first custom trip took to build. I haven’t flown a free flight in weeks.
Keep the suggestions coming! Thanks so much everyone!
The @BeachAV8R speaketh the truth.
Let me know if you need some input on that. I fly there regularly.
All the Norwegian STOL airports are worthy of some attention.

Rad, thanks @Troll (love the name, haha)
I will for sure reach out to you about that soon. I have been there IRL numerous times, and it’s incredible. Been a couple years, so I am itching to get back and photograph some more Northern Lights!

Flew G-RAEM today. It had a soft nose wheel so we only did a local sortie when it had been reflated.
Nice. Least you got her airborne. We did a fair bit of flying today also. A busy day. I flew five sorties. Good days work

About this file
The MSFS mod selector solves a common problem in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (MSFS): even though only a few weeks after release, there are hundreds of high-quality community-created mods to enhance MSFS experience even further, installing a large number of them considerably slows down MSFS startup time to an unbearable point.
A simple manual solution is to manually copy only the mods you want to use at one time before starting the simulator.
The Mod Selector assists you in this by automating the selection process: it allows you to easily group mods by type and (for world enhancements which would be most mods) by continent, country, and even by city as well as by aircraft type (for aircraft mods).
Here’s how this works:
- Start up the Mod Selector before starting MSFS.
- You must register each mod once with the Mod Selector.
- If a mod is already in Mod Selector’s online mod database, it will register automatically.
- Simply select all the mod categories you want to activate.
- The Mod Selector will automatically copy the relevant mods into your Community folder / move away all unwanted mods into a temp folder.
- Then, start MSFS and enjoy a significantly decreased startup time.

Here is one for @Hangar200 for when he wants to visit his old stomping grounds… I have a particular affinity for ORF because I spent one drunken year at Old Dominion University, (spent most of my time at Oceana though), and was almost killed a few years back in a near mid-air with an SH60 over Little Creek. Fun times. You live in that area too @SkateZilla? And I think @531Ghost is in that vicinity as well…
Hi all,
I am back with a brand new bush trip! After three weeks of blood, sweat and tears, my North Idaho Bush Trip is done!
This one was a monster to create. This 18-Leg Spring Time Adventure will take you to the most beautiful and remote locations in the North Idaho backcountry, all while navigating intense weather and challenging landing strips. Much like my Central Idaho Bush Trip, mountains and rivers dominate the remote landscapes of northern Idaho. This trip is so extensive, I couldn’t keep it all in Idaho! Covering almost 800 nautical miles, from the Bitterroot Wilderness in Montana to the Palouse in Washington, this exciting trip will show you why this remote region is one of the most beautiful locations in the United States.
I learned a TON in creating this bush trip, and I think you will see that the writing is much more descriptive, the waypoints more identifiable, and the weather much more diverse, thanks to the SoFly weather preset pack. Thank you to all of you in the various forums who provided great feedback on the thread for my Central Idaho Bush Trip, which helped me make this one bigger and better.
Enjoy!!
I’ve tried it today, pretty cool. It even adds sounds like passangers boarding/unboarding, dispatch etc.
